I am a very compassionate and loyal person. I use my skills, previous education, knowledge, and past experience in both caregiving and customer service in order to provide quality care. I decided to become a nurse when I was sick as a young man and taken to the hospital. I admired the way I was being treated by nurses, so I told myself that I would become a nurse when I grew up. My abilities include general nursing, assessment, teaching, and implementation skills, assistance with activities of daily living, medication administration, and compassionate bedside care.
I became a Caregiver because of my grandmother. She is getting older and has Dementia, so I am always by her side trying to help her remember things and doing daily activities with her. Being a Caregiver is the greatest job I could of ever do because I am helping others out and communicating with them making them feel happy. A personal achievement would be making someone feel good about theirselves on a daily basis. I am a 24 year old and I have almost 2 years worth of caregiver experience under my belt . Im Certified in CPR and AED, Certified in Medication Technician, Certified in Alzheimer's and Mental Health. Also Certified in Personal Care Aide. I also just obtained a certificate in MRSA and Infection Precautions. I'm a very loving and a caring person, and very social.
I love caring for people. That's why I prefer in home assignments, it gives me the opportunity to work personally with one client and build a relationship. Giving all my attention is best, as I can provide the greatest level of care that way. As a young girl I saw how short people were with my grandmother who had dementia. It was disturbing. I want to add joy to those with disabilities. Now with nearly 8 years experience in healthcare, I look forward to learning and my goal is to enhance the quality of life for those I work with. I enjoy meeting people and listening to their stories. Caregiving brings a great joy and pride to my heart. Knowing I help make someone's day is the most rewarding part! I contribute love and compassion to the aging process.
I have become a care giver because of my need to give back. My mother died of cancer when i was seven months old and my grand mother took care of me till my father remarried when I was six years old. She was very affectionate and loving towards me and I have always been fond of older people since. Back home in Sierra Leone I was the grand son who always visited the older family members and did all the chores they could no longer handle. Such as fetch water for their baths, clean their commodes,do their laundry, when i was old enough, help them cook or cook for them. Thus they always helped me out with pocket money. Mostly I like the feeling at the end of the day of having made someone more comfortable and feeling that old age is not a curse. I leave them with the feeling that there is still someone the can trust. I leave them with a smile on there face. It is a good feeling on my part to think that I am dependable even around the less palatable tasks. A personal achievement I am proud off is taking nursing classes at 53 years old and passing the NCLEX boards on the first attempt. I am 53 years old but look and feel like I am 36 years old. I love to dance, cook, clean, jog, ride my bikes and my motor cycle. I also love gardening. I am married with two daughters 22 and 17 respectively. My older daughter graduated from Temple university in in Philadelphia and now works and lives on her own. my younger daughter is in her senior year in high school.
Hello and thank you for your consideration. I am a 27 year old single mother with a handsome 4 year old son who keeps me on my toes. I am a Medical Assistant and I earned my credits at the Everest Institute in Silver Spring, Md. I successfully completed the Medical Assisting program with a 2.0 GPA and graduated from the Everest Institute in November of 2013 proudly receiving my diploma. My aunt owns a couple of nursing homes so I was pulled into the caregiver business by helping her out with the residents at her facility. Working with the residents and building new relationships with them touched my heart in a special way. It's something about the ederly that I love and respect being as though they have been here on earth longer than me and I find them to be wiser and often admire and love hearing their "back in my day" stories. I am very fortunate to still have both of my grandparents so please understand that I would treat your loved ones with the same love and respect that I give to my grandmother and grandfather. I look forward to working with you your loved ones and hope to hear from you soon! :)
