I have 10 years experience as a caregiver, I am patient with my clients because I understand what they go through . I work with my clients to be able to achieve their set goals. I have been in the healthcare industry for about 20 years now. The reason I entered the field was because my Mother and Stepdad took sick when I was about 12 and I became the care provider to them both. We did not have much money to have a around the clock nurse so the nurse we had taught me how to do many things. When my parents passed I became a CNA/GNA and I worked in a nursing home setting which I loved for about 7 years. I wanted more even to become a nurse so I left the nursing home setting and begin working in the hospital. I worked there for about 6 years when I had my son I left the hospital and tried a new venture. I entered into my current and most rewarding field, working with individual's who needed me most. Those who have Developmental Disabilities. I have been with my current job for 10. A personal goal of mines was to return to school something I have started and look forward to finishing not just for me but for my son and to give back to those I work with and support on a day to day basis.

The first skill I posses is an excellent communicator. In my pass experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant. I have use my communication skills to speak with patients families about the patients well-being. I have also communicated with nurses and doctors about plans and concerns related to the patient. My second skill I posses as a CNA, I am a very patience caregiver. I have worked with many patients who moved slowly due to disability or due to age. This has allowed me to be patient and understanding to each patient's situation, and this has also allowed me to become empathic to each patient needs. My third skill I possess is physical stamina. Working as a CNA, I have cared for several patients at once. In some situations I had to lift or move patients with disabilities. And lastly, I am very compassionate caregiver. Being compassionate as a CNA has allowed me to care for patients accurately and responsibly. I have cared for patients of different races, backgrounds, and cultures. Showing a great amount of empathy towards patients allows patients to feel comfortable. In conclusion, I believe all of the skills I posses will make me a great caregiver to your loved one.
