I have been a caregiver for 10 yrs. I have work patient that have dementia , Alzheimer , stroke and Parkinson. I love been a caregiver because at least am able to help and make an impact in their life with dignity and respect. my personal achievement at the end of the day I made them smile and feel at their very best. I love what am doing. also in school learning to become a better nurse and caregiver.

I have become a care giver because of my need to give back. My mother died of cancer when i was seven months old and my grand mother took care of me till my father remarried when I was six years old. She was very affectionate and loving towards me and I have always been fond of older people since. Back home in Sierra Leone I was the grand son who always visited the older family members and did all the chores they could no longer handle. Such as fetch water for their baths, clean their commodes,do their laundry, when i was old enough, help them cook or cook for them. Thus they always helped me out with pocket money. Mostly I like the feeling at the end of the day of having made someone more comfortable and feeling that old age is not a curse. I leave them with the feeling that there is still someone the can trust. I leave them with a smile on there face. It is a good feeling on my part to think that I am dependable even around the less palatable tasks. A personal achievement I am proud off is taking nursing classes at 53 years old and passing the NCLEX boards on the first attempt. I am 53 years old but look and feel like I am 36 years old. I love to dance, cook, clean, jog, ride my bikes and my motor cycle. I also love gardening. I am married with two daughters 22 and 17 respectively. My older daughter graduated from Temple university in in Philadelphia and now works and lives on her own. my younger daughter is in her senior year in high school.

I am a Licenced Practical Nurse that is an Army wife. I am currently taking online classes and my schedule is pretty flexible. I will however need to give 2 weeks norice at my current job.

I actually became a care giver to restore health, provide basic life support And allay anxiety through reassurance. being a care giver is something I love doing, providing holistic care to my client. .and at the end of my care evaluation knowing dat my client was able to attain to the set goals, keeps me happy and actualized. I'm very Patient and understanding to clients. Work in collaboration with clients in meeting their goals. Ensure all their needs are met. Encourage and support clients in meeting their goals. Ensure safety, calm and peaceful environment to ensure the clients are happy. I enjoy listening and talking to elderly people. I have learned a lot about Ethics, Cluture, Educational background and Values. Some of the Elderly clients have a lot of Positive experience in life that's helpful with my ambitious mind set. I have been able to work with Clients in recovery and meeting up with their goals

l love being a care giver after my dad passed away, l did really took good care of him, from there l developed the love to care for the sick and the Elderly. l have been in this nursing field for the past 14 years now, and I still love the job .
