I started my journey as a caregiver with my father who had cancer. This snowballed into taking care (at the same time) of my husband who was diagnosed with cancer also. They died a year apart from one other. My experience in caregiving for them is priceless. The lessons I learned are invaluable. After that I moved in with a elderly lady who needed assistance with cleaning, cooking, bathing, doctor appointments, ect. She died three years later. About that time my mother was needing more assistance. I handled her health issues (which were many), cleaning, cooking, entertainment. I cared for her through hospice at my home when the time came. I then for two years worked with a lady who had dementia and type one diabetes. I have a tremendous amount of empathy for senior citizens. They are wonderful people who need companionship and help doing their day to day chores. The older you get, the harder it gets for simple everyday actives, chores. I am compassionate, honest and have a great sense of humor. I would love to get to know you.
Hello my name is Jacklin Aud. I have been a caregiver for thirty years . Started working in Carmi Hospital/nursing home my junior year during my nursing class. I received my CNA licence at 16. Continued to work as a CNA throughout my junior, and senior year of school. I stopped to care for my grandmother. She was dying of cancer. I got married . My husband ,and I started a family. We moved to MN from Illinois. I decided to do home care unstead of working for a hospital, or nursing home. I've witnessed to much neglect in a nursing home ! I got my HHA licence . Then I started working as HHA in homes privately. I'm also a Pca for disabled children . I worked for Home Instead Senior Care for 4,5 years. I decided working privately for clients as a HHA is better than working for a company as a HHA. My job consist of taking clients shopping, doctors office, out for lunch, light cleaning, cooking, assist with bathing, and toileting. I work with hospice, and give medication. I love to care for people! I treat all elderly as if they were my own parents, or grandparents.
I became a caregiver because I enjoy working with the elderly. I enjoy making them feel special. Making them laugh. Listen to their stories about their youth and family. I started as a live in five days a week for a couple, both in wheelchairs. After that I've taken care of three other people, two of whom passed away. I can give you references from those families. Also I have references from many friends that I've known for over twenty years. I've been a self employed live in for almost three years. After some time you get to feel like family. I've had a background check. Please let me know if you would like to meet. Thanks.
