What makes me a great caregiver would have to be my patience, compassion, consideration, empathy, attention to detail and my love for others. I treat others with the same respect that I would want. My mother was diagnosed with a savvier disorder for sleep apnea when I was only 4. 3 yrs later she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, nerve damage then formed from diabetes as well as sugar issues. 5 months later she was then diagnosed with lupus. She also had a fluid disorder, arthritis, obesity, blood disorder (polycythemia vera), She was never diagnosed but we believed she had formed dementia 1 yr before her death. I took on the responsibility of taking care of her at 17. When I was 18 she had to undergo a thrombectomy (surgery to remove blood clots). She had 1 1/2 gallons removed. When she came home I was her caretaker/caregiver for her surgery recovery. I took her to and from her appointments, helped her bath, fixed her meals, administered her medications and kept up with her medications and ran her errands. I would have to say this as well as the job I worked as a health aid has attracted me to be a great caregiver. I have also dealt with and still deal with epilepsy, My sister and my aunt have grandma seizures, my cousin has pseudoseizures ( not epileptic they are emotion stress induced). What I most enjoy is the one on one bond that you gain from the resident you are caring for. This type of job gives someone a nice sense of respect, It helps one gain more knowledge and helps family's in need of help to get that help. It takes a lot for someone to leave there loved one with a stranger, I gain a sense of respect and honesty to be trusted with this individual. A personal achievement that I am proud of would have to be taking care of my mom as well as being there for my sister, aunt, and cousin. There is a lot of health problems in my family and I am proud that I am the one that is able to help them.
I am a recent grad from UNCG, and now a current nursing student who truly loves taking care of people. I have been a nanny for many years, as I especially love children.. but I also have a passion for the elderly. I've came across so many situations where elderly people are being mistreated, and it honestly breaks my heart and inspires me to show them love and compassion. I am making it my duty to give proper care to any senior I come across. I have cared for many of my grandparents who have now passed away due to cancer and other health problems. I know that I wanted the best care for my family members, and that is what I can assure for your family! If there is a task that I am unsure of how to properly perform, I will always ask for clear instruction. I have also completed a CNA training course and will be certified on October 13, 2018. I am also CPR certified.
I have been told I am very easy to talk to. I love helping others and have always wanted to work in the health care field. I enjoy being able to help those in need. It makes me proud to know that I may have changed someone's life even if it's just a little. I am constantly praised and thanked for the work that I do and it makes me feel good and let's me know I have chosen the right profession. A personal achievement I am proud of is having my children. They keep me grounded and I love that they see me as an example and are learning to help and love others as I do.
Hi! I'm Valeree. I'm an extremely positive person who enjoys the simple things in life. I enjoy conversations over a cup of coffee and getting to know people. I grew up as a military kid, which meant I moved around a lot! I am really good at meeting new people, and talking to anyone! I'm very soft spoken, organized, love routines!, and overall a warm person. My Nana suffered from Dementia and she and I were very close. My daughter is named after her. She struggled with daily skills and I would like to be able to help others who may have the same struggles she had. My heart always leans towards older individuals. I enjoy hearing stories of their pasts, and letting them relive their life's experiences. I have cared for numerous children and now think that as my own children are older, I'd like to help elderly people as well. I know I would be a wonderful caregiver for an older individual. I would care for anyone as I did for my Nana.

I am a very dedicated, loving and ,passionate person. I treat my residents as though they were my family. I grew up around care giving, my mother has been a caregiver for 20+ years. I have always loved seeing the satisfaction my mother had from her job which inspired me to follow in her foot steps. There are so many things that make this a rewarding career, my personal favorite is the relationships you build along the way, to sit and talk to someone about their life and give them a friend as well as a helper. The highest achievement, I feel is the satisfaction of the family you are working for, as well as satisfaction of the resident. This is the main goal I strive for in my work

I was in the medical field for twenty seven years and worked with the young and seniors. I enjoy working especially with our seniors, because the have so much knowledge and sometimes they just need someone to sit and talk/listen to what they have to say. My personal achievement would be that I was able to raise my son as a single Mom and hold down a full time job. I am a native Charlottean, and have helped take care of loved ones in my family. I lost my Mother five years ago to Alzheimer's, and my Dad passed away 2 years ago from Congestive Heart Failure and Dementia
