I am passionate and enthusiastic about what I do. I love taking care of people. I became a care giver to be able to take care of people whose loved ones where far or stretched and needed an extra pair of hands. Meeting new people, getting to know them and being able to help them with their basic needs gives me satisfaction. One of my achievements was being able to care for a depressed client who after sometime started liking getting out of bed in the morning; I read to them and often took short walks with them. The small things make a difference in the lives of the people we care for.

Being a caregiver is such an honor - it's all about putting away your needs to assist others. Knowing that a smile on your face can bring joy and happiness to someone else is priceless. The moments when you can reflect back and see how you have helped someone is what caregiving is all about.
Becoming a caregiver grew from my personal experience of caring for my grandfather. My grandfather built his home with his own hands and all he wanted was to live out his life in it. Watching him become less capable to care for himself and his house quickly became the driving force behind my overpowering desire to help seniors stay in their homes. Think of me like a multi tasking personal life assistant! What is that you ask? Well...... not only can I provide assistance with daily living tasks, but I can also assist with all aspects of household management. I can accompany you to appointments, be an advocate by your side, a voice for you, or just help you by listening and taking notes. I can help you run errands, food shop & track and manage household management tasks like maintenance & repairs. One day I may be fixing the dishwasher, the next day I'm correlating all your upcoming medical appointments and family visits. I believe that our age should not dominate our lives, how old we are does not determine who we are. I will do anything I can to help someone continue living in their home, because I believe if that's what they wish, then they deserve a chance. Aging in place is a realistic and viable option that we should always consider.

I became a caregiver because I believe what goes around comes around and I will be in their shoes some day and want to receive the care that I give to the elderly. I am always smiling and just a people person and give the elderly the time and care they deserve. I am an older woman that found my dream job. I was a stay at home mom for many years and just found that I had more to give once my children were out on their own. So I decided to go back to school in the medical field.

I once lived near an elderly housing complex and saw the need of elderly who who were badly in need of help and could not afford. I began volunteering and never stop. I love helping people. I am very proud that was able to save the life of an elderly who was not aware that she had developed early stage cancer. I took her to MGH and the cancer institute for testing. She was quickly diagnosed and began treatment on that very day. She is still in remission as we speak. I am a reliable, dedicated, compassionate, loving, hard working, and a very caring individual and I love helping people. I have two children of my own that I care for and enjoy taking care of others. I am a fun-loving person that has a wide variety of interests. I love to smile and be funny. I love cooking, going on hikes, movie marathons, traveling, dancing, games, and basically anything that is a good time (or can be made fun). I love pets, kids, helping around the house, random projects, work-out buddy or just someone to talk to. I play the piano, although it's been awhile since I've played, and I like talking science. I was a teacher for awhile so if you would like to teach me something new I would greatly love that! I enjoy being able to make someone else's day better by helping out in any way I can. I am proud of my academic achievements, but I am more proud of my kids and how they are growing up to be wonderful people. I am attracted to being a caregiver because I enjoy the company of people and getting to know others. I look forward to meeting you!
