I love the Senior Community and truly feel they are so deserving of love and respect! It gives me joy to be their companion and champion to uplift them and allow them to feel safe and and pride intact. I have a great memory of one of my clients "Dorothy" who didn't have a lot of confidence in herself and wasn't steady in her walk so she never went out. Her family had rented a wheelchair for me so I could temp her to get out... long story short is we went out whenever weather allowed and by the time of my departure and her moving to another state , we cruised all over town laughing and packed picnic lunches and her whole demeanor changed and my heart swelled ! I still keep in touch with her today and at 97 she still remembers me and says she looks forward to my calls! I have a lot of love for my clients and their happiness means everything to me!

I've been caregiving starting with my mother around 1995 through to her death in October 2010. I was an only child so I did everything for her or with her. Shopping, cleaning, activities, finances, bills, calling people to keep everything going right etc.
Then I continued being a home health aide by getting training and working at Flushing House, where I had put my mom till her demise. I took care of numerous seniors - cleaning, bathing, dressing, escorting to activities, med reminders and anything else they needed.
I now live in Las Vegas and would like to do the same here on a part time basis only. I do not drive and take buses regularly. Thank you.
I have worked as a caregiver for an elderly man until his recent passing . I did it for 9 years and the it consisted of cleaning, cooking, bathing , changing diapers and clothing.
I dispensed medication, by authority of his physician and medical providers. I have my own vehicle, so I did do errands and transported him to Dr.visits and other appts.
I'm a very careing and loving person for children & seniors I'm always wanting to help others in need , I'm hoping to further my career in child care in the near future.
I enjoy caregiving because having a successful career in this aged care industry involves finding enjoyment in helping our most vulnerable, elderly community and feeling inspired by your decision to work in this industry. If compassion and enjoyment don't come easily when caring for the elderly, then being a PCA may not be the right choice for you. This doesn't mean that every part of the job should feel like pure joy there are some activities that are even unpleasant, but it's about appreciating the fact that you are making a bigger difference, knowing that you are doing something for others that is improving their quality of life.
I am a very compassionate person, very patient and love working with elderly.
Im very clean and understanding about my clients needs. I love when they feel good about my service. I'm also a cook and I enjoy cooking for them.
When I was at my last year in High School I already new that I wanted to pursue a career in Health Care or medical field that's why I decided to take up Bachelor of Science in Nursing and graduated with a degree. It is also the time when I was taking care of my father who suffered a 4th stroke that lead him to be paralyzed for several years. When I did get a chance to migrate to US that's when I decided to worked as Health Care Professional and took up some classes to be certified. As to my first job I worked as a caregiver in one of the Developmental Disability Boarding Care Level 4- I in Montclair, for 7 years. Then I did a private caregiving to several one on one clients as of today for about 2 1/2 years already , performing duties such as providing personal care, driving, marketing, meal preparations and et.al. I'm very familiar with Home Health and Hospice Care as well. I can say that this is really my passion and being an advocate to someone is priceless. Receiving personal overwhelming messages from friends, relatives and family members of my resident is one that makes me feel good and encouraged me to study to be able to perform more effective with my care.
Being that I am a natural nurture, caring for others came naturally to me. I have a high tolerance of patience, I am very compassionate, timely, respectable, active listener and reliable. After caring for the elderly and disabled for these last 7 years I have gain a passion for caregiving. I love knowing that my energy fulfills the room while caring for my clients and that I am able to build long lasting relationships.
I truly enjoy helping the elderly and handicapped.I was a Pca for my mother for 15 years until she lost her battle with cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and Altzheimers.I have lived in Las Vegas for 18 years with my husband and daughters, both of my daughters are attending college.
What make me a great Caregiver is that I have patience, compassion, and urgency. I became a caregiver to help people that dont have the same abilities as myself. I find pride in my work.
