HELLO! My career as a caregiver started with a chronically ill father. Throughout my childhood and in my early teens my dad was very ill with diabetes Type 1. When I was 5 years old my dad lost his eyesight. As a preteen I participated in his care helping with blood sugar readings and Insulin injections. When I was able to drive I help out by taking him to doctor's appointments. I went away to college and lived in Florida for a few years and as my dad became progressively worse I moved home. I became increasingly involved in his care as my mother was worn out and had a very full-time job. At that point I decided to change career paths and go to nursing school. My love of taking care of people is a direct result of the experience I had administering Loving Care to my father . I considered to be a dedicated and resourceful Private Duty Nurse. I'm 28 years old, I started out with private Home care when I was 18. I grew to love the family I cared for and stayed with them up until they passed, I enjoy getting to know the people I care for and take pride in knowing that I can make a difference in their lives. I work for U of R as a cardiology technician part time and would love to help out a family as well if I could.

I believe I'm a great care giver because, I show compassion, interest, and I try to make the person happy and smile much as I can. I don't feel as if a person Is a client most of mine have became extended family over the years. ive taken care of patients who were bed ridden, had to have a cpap, BiPaP, oxygen, cancer, diabetic, cath patients, I've administered meds to the patients, gave bed baths, I went to school in 2011 for my cna but did not get to take my state boards due to having my son a week after I graduated.
