What makes me a great caregiver is that I pay attention to details. I do exactly what I'm told, asked and also give advice according to my expertise and I tell the truth about what is needed when it matters. I first started working with elders within my monastery taking care of their basic needs and taking them back and forth to doctor's appointments and following their doctors care of plan. I am a great caregiver because I take my time with people and I care about the person I am caring for. Watching CNA's care for my grandpa when he was in the hospital is what me into caregiving. Because seeing someone care for my grandpa and help him with the things he needed gave me and my family a lot of relief knowing that when we left to go home he was taken care of and we didn't have to be there 24 hours. It made me want to be able to do that for other people and their families, give them relief and comfort knowing their loved one is being taken care of even if they're not there. I love being a caregiver because I love to help people and it makes me feel good to help people with whatever they need without making them feel like a burden or like they are less of a person because they need a little help.
