I have a heart for seniors, and I decided to become a CNA so that I could use the skills I learned in nursing school. I almost have a RN degree. I am very good at what I do and have many years of experience. I treat seniors as if they were my own Mom or Dad because they deserve to feel special and cared for after caring for so many others in their lifetime.
I became a caregiver because I experienced first hand what is like to provide care for someone who was no longer capable of performing everyday living activity. I took care of my mother for over five years, and my father for over four years. I have recently also taken care of my brother. I have always liked taking care of others and helping others, but after taking care of family I gained a clear perspective of the need for good caregivers. I love being a caregiver because it makes me feel like my life has purpose and it gives me a fulfillment inside to know I am doing something that is making a difference in someone's life. I am proud to know that I was blessed to be able to take care of both my mother and my father. Some people don't have an option to take care of their elderly parents, but I was blessed to provide care for both of my parents. I am a very empathetic, compassionate, and loving person. I have been pursuing a nursing degree, but it was put on hold to take care of my family members. I was only able to take one or two classes at a time, and then I had to stop taking classes for awhile to be able to give the time needed to family who needed care assistance. I am a graduate vocational nurse I recently graduated from nursing school and I am awaiting to take my licensure examination. I am looking forward to making a difference in lives.
My name is Joseph but I go by Gio. I'm currently a nursing student. I have worked for over 10 years in home care setting as well as at a hospital for 2 years. I did work for two years on and off with special needs children. In that time, I worked with a lot of different disabilities and conditions. I am very compassionate, caring, understanding, and most importantly, very patient. I always put my patients first over anything else. I'm currently a student pursuing a nursing degree. I am very passionate about what I do. I am always on time, and willing to come in whenever needed to cover shifts to help out the families who I work for.
I believe what's makes me a good care giver is, being patient, understanding, loving, listener. The reason I became a CNA is because my grandmother was very sick (lung/brain cancer) when I was little an I tried to take care of her the best I could. An I do believe that was my proudest moment when I did that for her.
I'm very reliable and a very hard worker and I'm very dependable that what's make me a great caregiver. I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping elderly people with disabilities. I enjoy my job with helping the client. The most personal achievement that I'm proud is knowing that I show companionship to the client and respect each client..
