I'm a very upfront outgoing person. I've been a Certified Nurse Assistant since I was 18 yrs old. I was helping my Mom out with my Dad during his battle with lung cancer. I enjoyed giving my Dad one on one care. I cared for him while my Mother was at work. Allowing him to be comfortable in his own home. After he passed I went on to take the CNA, CMA, Phlebotomy class at Kilgore College. I enjoyed mostly the one on one time spent with my patients. Getting to know them. I've worked in Long term care facilities. Prisons, Home healths, Assisted living homes. I mostly enjoy going into the homes as a Companion. Just giving somebody the option of staying home. Helping them with all daily living routines. Allowing them to still stay active. Giving them respect, dignity. Also giving them all my attention.
I believe the qualities that make me a great caregiver are patience, compassion and attentiveness. These qualities are essential in assisting a patient at their bedside in their time of need. As stressful it can be for someone who no longer has the physical ability they once had, there needs to be someone who is understanding and empathetic to their desires to ensure comfort. My interest in becoming a caregiver comes from being the one my grandparents call on for help. I strongly believe in giving back to the community and equal effort for all ages of those in stand in the need of care. My enjoyment stems from seeing interacting and seeing my patients smile. I'm proud of the fact that step by step I'm making an impact on my patients as they always ask to see me again. Once I secure the peace of mind in my patients' families hearts and minds, my job is complete.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer when I was 17. As an only girl in a family of five boys I took on the responsibility of caring for her until her death later that year. Four years later I gave birth to a son with a bleeding disorder. I took training to care for him at home when he was seven, I cared for giving him his medication which was done by way of IV. I became his advocate, for his treatment, medication, dealing with drug companies, as well as at the hospital. I have worked with individuals with brain injuries, helping them to work towards independency if possible. I love working with people and love to make them feel important.
I'm a sympathetic person who believes in God, treating others with love and compassion. I have a good sense of humor and love to laugh. I fell in love with helpings others at a young age, I helped my grandmother care for my grandfather whom had cancer. I like to see a patient smile and know they will be treated with respect and with dignity.

As a motivated Caregiver with 3 years of hands-on experience providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients/ clients, I have worked extensively with patients, providing and documenting all personal care and rehabilitation services such as feeding, bathing, and mobility assistance. In addition to my experience and formal training, I dedicate myself to providing exceptional bedside manner. The one thing that I enjoy most about caregiving is (everything) just knowing that I helped someone in any way possible who was in need gives me great satisfaction. My personal achievement by far has been graduating high school and starting college, now I must graduate college.
