I have been a CNA since 2000 i have always enjoyed being around the elderly, but i never knew there was a career about it until i moved to Austin , soon I started working at New Hope Manor where i had the opportunity to work hands on training!! I loved it, and then I started working as a Restorative Aide at a Nursing Home where i was working under the supervision of physical and occupational therapist I really enjoyed this job, cause it gave me a lot of satisfaction seeing my patients progress and being more independent!! I have also worked at the Alzheimer's units for 2 years , and Now I work as a Medication Technician and have really enjoyed what i have learned in one year, but it really doesn't fill my need of enjoying a good talk with them which is what enjoy the most, they have a lot to share!!

I find it thrilling spending time with people I don't know, and then getting to know everything about their routines. There's something very special about a being trusted and hired to care for a stranger, they expect you to care for them, and tend to them. Do things the can't nesecarily do themselves anymore. I used to care for my grandmother because she had hired people in the past and they would never take care of her the way she needed. People are humans, they should be treated like it no matter their gender age or disability. That's why I enjoy the health care field, because I know the person I am carrying for its in good hands.

Skills & Certifications: Hospice Care, Home Health Care, Medical Assistant (MA), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
