I am Laurie Perez, compassionate and top quality care is what I like to deliver to my clients. As I watched my grandmother grow older through the years and as close as I was with her, that amazing relationship opted me to go into this line of work. I love being able to help other people and , being able to do for others in such a compassionate way as I would love done for me someday. I enjoy listening and talking to my patients about their history and life's adventures. I just found I had a nack for this healthcare field and fell in love with it. I can proudly say that I have never had any complaints and that's probably why I have been in this field for over 35 years and counting.[?]

I have 23 years experience as a CNA. I am certified in CPR. I love taking care of people. Providing care to someone that can't do for themselves, makes me proud knowing that I made someone life a little better.

For me I guess it became evident early on in my life, that what I love to do is to take care of others. I was married for 21 years and took care of elderly in-laws, and parents till they passed on, and it made me realize how special those with special needs are and how much 1 simple smile, listening ears, and touch can comfort even a stranger. None of us are promised tomorrow and on April 1, 2004 I lost my oldest son in the war in Iraq.... to me that was the most devastating thing to go through that any parent could endure. I mention this because after Dusty's death my life was forever changed and out of it, I was afforded the opportunity to go to school and get certified as a CNA for the state of Texas. I had volunteered and shadowed at a long term center and my fellow friends said Lisa you like this you should get certified.... and so I did. I tell everyone that being a caregiver is not a job for me it is a call in my life. It requires compassion and I am devoted to do the very best I can do for the person I am providing care for and it goes beyond just the daily ADL's, this encompasses being a good listener and encouraging them to achieve the best possible for them and their loved ones. I have been a CNA for 8 years, I have experience in home health, hospitals, and LTC. The best part about being a CNA to me is the relationships and friendships with my patients. I don't ever feel like I'm just an employee to them, I feel like they're family. I love being a caregiver because it allows me to bring joy to someone's day, I love it when I can bring a smile to my patients faces. My personal achievements I'm proud of are my patience and understanding abilities. I always try to stop and think about how the patients feeling when they're upset or frustrated.

I have a tremendous compassion for the elderly my parents are no longer here to guide and love them , under this circumstances i have alot to give to somenone who needs care and love and compassion. i love to read and watch movies. i am very dependable and loyal and honest.. i retired from the sheriff department 2006 , had a good 20 years with the department.
