I have been a CNA since September 2002. When I initially took the course, I was doing it for the paycheck. It didn't take long to realize and understand that no amount of money could make me feel as wonderful as what providing care for the elderly did\does. I have tried to go in to other areas of employment, but my heart is in Nursing. I truly believe that this is my calling. By January 2019, I will be enrolled in the LVN program through HMH in Huntsville, TX. Some thing that I have been simply dreaming about. I have Grandparents and other people that I care deeply about. Each and every time I come in contact with a patient\resident, I care for them and treat them as I EXPECT for some one in my own family to be treated. I play close attention to detail and act swiftly if there are any concerns of any kind.
I love the work I do, getting to meet interesting people & having the privaledge to assist them. One of my favorite parts of caregiving is talking to the client & learning more about them. I have worked in home care over 18 years and enjoy it very much and plan on continuing helping others for many years to come.
I have been working with elderly for over 10 years and I'm experienced in Alzheimer's disease care, dementia, feeding tube, cancer, Parkinson's, brain tumors, terminally ill, and strokes.I am familiar with the use of a hoyer lift, and gait belt I also have experience in assisting patients with bath as well as transporting them to and from Dr.s appointment. I have reliable transportation and references available.
I am a Self motivated, dedicated, offering strong support and communication skills, excellent work ethic, very adaptable, reliable, strong team player, quick learner and determined. I hold a love and passion for serving people which is demonstrated by my choice of career. I represent my company with dignity and professionalism. I became a caregiver because it has always been my dream to help others in need in any way i can. I enjoy being a caregiver because it fulfills my passion for helping others and being there for others who need help or just a friendly companion! A personal achievement i am proud of is getting my nursing career started. It has been my goal to get into nursing since my teenage years after helping to take care of my grandfather who was bed ridden with cancer. I moved in with my grandmother at the age of 17 when Hospice was called in to help take care of him at night; i knew at that point that i wanted a career in nursing!
My name is Melody Williamd and I became a caregiver because it's something I'm very passionate about. I think I would be a great caregiver because it's something I love to do. Being a caregiver isn't all about physical work it's emotional, mental, and spiritual. I love providing others with the care they need and deserve.
My name is La'Trorian Kaylin Dixon, I'm 21 years old. I became a care provider when I was 18 years old because I loved to help other on a more personal level rather than in a physical workplace. I am very educated on laws, rules, regulations, and procedures dealing with the sick and elderly. Every month I do MRC's to stay educated. The reason I chose this route is because in the workplace the patients don't get the time or companionship that they deserve and the time it takes for nurses and aids to get to them its either too late or the patients aren't happy yet they still have a job to do, so I started off on my path to care providing. Here I can show compassion, love, understanding, and vulnerability to show and relate to the people I help, alongside the families that have so much to dal with and no-one to share with. I was a privileged child so I didn't have many problems personally, but witnessed a lot of hurt and pain and even myself going through trials and tribulations throughout life, yet it made me stronger and want to strive for difference in someone else life. I've had elder family members, broken bones, cancer, STD's, etc. in my family and around me so healthcare and the wellbeing of others have always stood out for me as an individual and there's nothing greater then seeing a change you made in a persons life. This is an addition to why I want to go to school and study Neuropsychology and minor in Physical Therapy. My personal achievements I am most proud of are: I completed 4 months physical therapy training, completing a whole year of healthcare studies hands on, also becoming employee of the month. Hopefully the achievements get greater. I am of the Christian community
Some of my traits. Strong Work Ethic. ... Compassionate. ... Attention to Detail. ... Sense of Humor. ... Quick Thinking Skills. Patient. I chose nursing because my grandparents had a horrible aide as I was coming up. I knew how gentle my grandma and papa were and the lady just didn't seem to care for her job.... I stepped in occasionally to help with medication and bathes my favorite part was and remains the companionship I was able to prove. I moved on to obtain my certificate of nurses aide it's an rewarding. My Personal achievement has yet to come.
