One of the best qualities that I have as a caregiver is a sense of empathy. Whether I'm caring for a small child in a daycare or helping an elderly person recover from surgery, a sense of personal understanding and connection is vital. I understand the elderly may feel vulnerable, scared, confused and uncomfortable, and being able to identify and allay those fears can create a sense of calm and trust for those that I care for. Patience is also vital to the role of caregiver, I'm able to separate myself from potential anger and resentment and not take the situation personally, all while still providing high-quality care services. I can keep calm and soothe them in their time of distress or anxiety and being a a voice of encouragement. I'm reliable because I know that they depend on us and often feel a sense of personal attachment. I'm continually on time, particularly if administering food or medical care. The job of a caregiver is challenging yet rewarding. I do this because I am following a dream of helping others. Providing care to people, who cannot look after themselves, while maintaining their dignity, is an accomplishment in itself. I thrive helping people who cannot help themselves.
I have always longed to help out people since childhood especially the elderly. Just reminding myself that they were once able to do everything by themselves ,drives me to wholeheartedly help them out in their activities of daily living. I want to see them live a better life than I found them . Always living a smile on their faces , bringing back hope of living in their hearts. My personality of being loving, caring , passionate and servanthood spirit are the driving forces which led me to this profession. One of my personal achievements is the fact that I have been able as a CNA to professionally and successfully work in an Assisted living facility on patients with dementia, alzeimers, combative behaviors etc.
Since a very young age I have always been passionate in helping and caring for others, I love making people laugh and smile. I realized that caring for people was my calling once I started volunteering to care for homeless Veterans and family members. I believe a good caregiver is someone who treats the Client as their #1 priority; Being truthful, loyal, and always patient; Passionate, dependability, pleasant, humble, being a good listener, observant and always being on time. Being able to work with tough clients and knowing how to adjust your approach to the client. Allowing the client privacy and listen to what they say. Treat the client as if their one of your family members.
I'm a great choice because I have been taking care of others since I was small. From assisting with the care of several relatives battling cancer. To my work with adult with various disabilities. To the care I provide daily to my now adult son with a disability. Taking care of others is my passion. I'm also a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medication Technician , Phlebotomist, CPR and 1st Aid certified .
Compassionate, time conscious and dependable. The need to care for my aging mother attracted me to care for others. I enjoy the satisfaction that comes with making a difference in some ones life. Certificate of excellency from MBI health services where I have worked for three years.
Am calm and patient, I started taking care of my parents and then I fell in love with caregiving and extended it to others , I love the fact that I could be a helping hand to someone in need of it, I love putting a smile on their faces. I learned to communicate with those who can't just by facial expressions and gestures. I love caring for people.
I'm a down-to-earth nurse I love the simplest things. Like reading drawing listening to music. Sometimes dancing. I love talking to the residence because I get to know more about their lives about how they were when they were younger what they like what they dislike. I wanted to be a care giver because I love helping out the elderly as if they are my own grandparents since I don't have any grandparents. The things that I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is that bond that I form with them. That homie feeling of having the love of a grandparent. A Personal Achievement that I am most proud of is that I was able to help a late resident have a special moment with a loved one that they haven't seen for almost 20 years. That joy that I saw in her eyes when she saw that loved one made it worthwhile that I chose the right career.
