I went to nursing school to help take care of my brother, but he passed while I was in school. In 1999, my mother had a stroke, and she needed help, so my skills kicked back in and cared for her for over 6 years. After her passing, I continued caregiving to give families peace of mind. So since, 2007, I've been a in home private duty caregiver. Able to help families keep their loved ones at home and I developed a one-on-one care as a professional caregiver.

I became a caregiver because I love working with senior citizens. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I can assist them in their daily tasks, encourage them to follow doctors directives, and take medication on regularly scheduled times. I also like to make sure they follow their dietary requirements, engage in limited physical activities and if healthy enough go out on outings; I have worked with clients all over Richmond and welcome meeting new challenges. I am the mother of two, recently married and enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love helping people. I've been helping people all my life. Its makes me happy to know that my clients know there are people that who really care. I am proud when I make my clients smile and feel comfortable with me. I became a caregiver because I was already going to pursue a career in the medical field, and I wanted to get a feel for being in a medical environment. The enjoyable part about being a caregiver is getting experience working with around patients and other medical professionals.
