Greetings! I fell in love with caregiving while attending travel school, and working for an elderly man in his home. My passion for caregiving comes from growing up in a large family and always having people around me of all ages. I adored my grandparents, and had the pleasure of caring for all of my older siblings children before having 2 of my own. When I lost my grandparents, I decided that I wanted to spend my time around seniors, helping them to remain in their homes as long as possible. It has been a 35 year career for me, and I enjoy it more every day! The personalities of my clients are so varied and so valuable, and the knowledge and humor I have witnessed has been truly priceless. I hope I can somehow give back as much as I have been given.

I am a very responsible and dedicated to help my patient, understands their needs and will make sure to provide the best I can. Trustworthy and loving, I always enjoy being a caregiver because it gives me happiness whenever I provide assistance to those who needs me most.

What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is helping people in their daily activities. My qualities are being compassionate and kind to the less fortunate. When I think of taking care of aged folks I know and I give my best to treat them like when I'm taking care of my own parents. What I'm proud of right know is being able to bring my both of my parents from some where out of this country and be able to accommodate them and care for them with me and my kids.

I am friendly, try as much a possible to build a good work relationships with the people I care for. Am positive and I encourage my clients to do the things they can still do by themselves, help them with what they can't, I talk to them and keep them company when needed.

My name is Courtney, I am a CNA that absolutely loves what I do! I have been CNA for 9 years and absolutely love what I do! I was born and raised in the upper peninsula of Michigan, and moved to Washington 10 years ago, where I graduated and started my career. I am a very up-beat, happy person. I have Dementia and Alzheimer's training, I am nurse delegated and have recently worked as a lead med tech in an assisted living and memory care unit. I treat each client as an individual and I am very patient and understanding when it comes to care/needs for you/ your loved one, I take my time and make sure they know what I'm doing before I do it and I am not afraid to ask questions when I am unsure of something. In fact ,as a caregiver learning to stay great in my everyday assignments and in order for me to comply with my motto , learning to love without judging no matter how; having patience was that unexplainable energy to my success. It has given me to capability to accept others so I could understand them just as I have known them for a long time. By understanding them I have leaned and develop skills to help those I'm caring for. Also by helping I have realized changes in their their daily life which renew their hope in life again . I'm so great full for having such job not just for providing care but also being someone daily companion.

I have always enjoyed taking care of others. Watching my Dad suffer from Dementia for 10 years, built my desire in assisting others to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. I became a caregiver in 2011 to take care of my father in law until he passed away in 2013. I found this profession to be very rewarding and chose to pursue it. Building relationships with our elders, listening to their life experiences, helping with their daily activities brings me much joy. The personal achievement that I am most proud of I think would have to be my compassion and desire to help others as well as going back to school to obtain my NAC. My husband and I have been married for 34 years and have lived in Arlington for the past 24 years. We have a 28 year old daughter. A year ago we gained full custody of a 5 year old. I have spent the last year at home, devoting my time to him. He is now secure, doing well in school, it's time for me to get back out into the work force.
