I have worked as a caregiver for 10 years and I don't just do it for money but because I love the job with all my passion. I got my inspiration when I joined a prayer group in my church (24 years ago) whereby we go around helping the sick patients in their houses and hospitals and also prayed with them. Because of the way people were suffering, it made me to have the love and have the enthusiasm to help in whatever way I can. My strengths are: I am very patient, dependable, trustworthiness, discipline, respectfulness, determination, like to work as a team, dedicated and use critical thinking in situations that need to used My skills are Assisting client with bathing, dressing and other personal hygiene items. Administered medication, and kept a daily record it on the MAR. Completed light housekeeping duties; planned and prepared meals; changed bed linen. Maintained a daily log of activities and report any physical or cognitive changes to the family their loved one. Responded to all physical and emotional needs of the patient as needed. Offered emotional support, companionship and conversation.
I personalize my care to each individual based on their needs and always maintain a standard of care for each person. My priority is to care for someone as if it were my family. I started out helping my grandmother when I was young, and as I got older, taking care of others is what I love to do. My favorite thing about caregiving is letting someone know they will be taken care of no matter what may happen in life. Being able to help others in a small way is my best achievement.
My warmest hello to family seeking a caregiver. My name is Osa. I was born in Laos. My family immigrated to United States in the 1980s. Me and my 6 other siblings grew up in Louisiana and Washington states. My parents didn't speak a lick of English so life was a bit hard for a struggling family of 9. In being the 3rd oldest, I was responsible to take care of my younger siblings at an early age. When I was old enough to start earning money, to help my family financially, I baby-sat my parents friend's kids and their friends kid and so on. I guess my point of the story is, I enjoy helping and caring for people of all ages. When I started my CNA job at 18 years of age, I really enjoyed working with people and thus begins my nursing career. I like working in the geriatric and pediatric side of nursing. Please let me know what I can do for you and your loves one. To me care giving is much more than just a job, its about building lasting friendship. Thank you kindly for reading and considering me to care for your love ones. ~Aloha

Understanding it's not always easy to ask someone for help, I'm very patient. I've worked as a residential counselor, making a impact on people's lives who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia, and mental illnesses. I prepare and serve meals or feed patients needing assistance or persuasion. Giving on going help with daily ADL's, grooming and personal hygiene. Administering medications using MARS, and measuring vital signs. Participation in recreational activities with patients, including card games, sports, or television viewing. Also, disinfecting rooms and furnishings to maintain a safe and orderly environment for patients. I'm currently CPR and First aid certified. I hold a med aid completion certificate and food handlers card.
I've been a caregiver since 2001. With my experience, I have worked from assisted living to hospital, to long/short term settings, to pre and post acute rehabs, from palliative to hospice, from mental , passing medication with certification under supervision of a Registered nurse, from private care to adult carehome. With all my experience through the years in various settings I am capable, flexible and can manage on what type of heath care setting I'm going to work. Being a caregiver you meet various people from all ages, races, culture and I learned from those different aspect and stages of life through caregiving. At the end of my shift and when I completed my care to my residents or patient with a smile on their face and my supervisors with good satisfactory that is the best accomplishment at the end of the day.
