I am a caregiver for many years now, and i still enjoyed what i does best. I become a caregiver because i love to provide care to those who are not able to take care of themselves as before for whatever reasons. this job is very rewarding it makes you feel good about oneself, the joy and happiness you can bring to others, the smiles and thank you that you often get makes you want to continue,i have always enjoyed helping other so i know this is my calling and i will forever do my very best. When i was about nine years old living with my adoptive mother, in my Native country, I never forget how i had to tidy her, and fix breakfast lunch and snacks every morning before i leave for school, and after returning home i had to wash those dishes and even cook Dinner, because one day she was cooking a pot of soup and it fell and burn her real bad,I remember seeing her in that hospital bed in pain. I'm a honest, empathetic, loving, gently and reliable person,i enjoy meeting and working with people.I pay attention to all details, and like to be sure everything is just right. I am a creative thinker. And like to have an open mind about what will work best, i am efficient and highly organized, which enables me to be as productive as possible on the job.
I've been a caregiver for 13 years. I love this job because it gives me the opportunity for people to stay at home, nursing homes or anywhere they may feel comfortable. That's my nature and I'm a team player. I know I'm a great caregiver because I understand how difficult sometimes it can be to transition to Something different from my own experience. One of the reasons that I am so dedicated to this job Is because I took care of my mother that had MS for several years until she passed away. Another great experience I had was with a patient that I took care of for 6 years. He was disabled and bound in a wheel chair, that really made me appreciate life at its fullest.
My name is Pamela Seuramsingh and am a registered Home Health Aide (HHA). I am a kind, honest, responsible and compassionate individual who possesses twenty plus years of work experience. Taking care and helping people is my passion, especially the elderly. I have worked at hospitals in Long Island, Manhattan, at nursing homes and at agencies which put me at the personal residences to give patients care at home. I have also worked with several celebrities during my career.
1. When a patient goes to the doctor and have to hear very bad news and suffer from extreme pain, they need a happy face and support. As a caregiver, it's my duty to offer the kind of support and passion that they do not receive in the hospitals. I became a caregiver because I care and I want to offer my help. 2. I like the organizing of daily schedules but most of all I like to keep my clients active especially the elderly. I have researched to prominent causes of increased diseases and pain in elderly clients and the one thing they all have in common is being sedentary. So I enjoy getting my clients active to reduce stress, pain, and increase longevity. 3. I am proud when my clients want me to return. When they are happy with my services and are excited in me returning. 4. I am currently working on gaining more education by becoming a nurse and then later I hope to become a physician assistant.
A- ask L- listen O- observe H- help A- ask again Caregiving isn't only about feeding, clothing or cleaning. It's also having an understanding of how to navigate a sometimes complicated relationship between the ones who give care and the ones who are in need of it. Caregiving can be difficult. All I can do is keep a positive attitude. I'm a people person and I've always enjoyed helping others, even when it infringed on my personal life. It's just part of my nature. I started caregiving somewhat by accident when I assisted an elderly neighbor living alone after her mentally challenged son passed away. After that, my father-in-law with dementia came to stay with us for a short time and I took care of him for about a month. It was an afterthought, but that prompted me to do this as a career because it seemed like a natural fit for me. I know the importance of good quality care and respect. My elderly father passed away years ago and I have an aging mother. When the time comes, I would want her to be cared for by someone such as myself. I have an enormous amount of patience, so I can handle the stress that goes along with this type of care. I was the second oldest of 5 brothers and sisters. I raised my daughter and helped with my four grandchildren and now have two great grandchildren, so I have a lot of experience giving care, changing diapers, feeding, bathing and dealing with all types of conflict. Every aspect of a caregiver. The only difference is the size of the person. Smile! I'm currently available Tuesday morning through Thursday night and Friday during the day. My rate is negotiable. I have all of my certificates as well as a recent physical and TB test. I've also been cleared on a level 2 (FBI) background check, which allows me to work in this field. Let's have a talk and go from there. I can answer any questions you may have.
