I have always wanted to be a caregiver as long as I can remember thanks to my mother who was a great role model when I was growing up. I started as a caregiver at a very early age with my grandfather when he had a stroke and after he passed I decided to go for my license in 1/23/2006. I hold all the trades too being a great caregiver Patience, Compassion, Attentiveness, Dependability, and Trustworthiness. I enjoy my job very much and LOVE what I do.
I am a twenty-two years old student/ worker dedicated to providing the best care to my patients. I have been in the health care industry for a little over three years. Previously, I have worked in an assisted living home and also in a nursing home. I have devoted my first working years to proving care to those that need it and making sure that I am of the best help to them. It is always my pleasure to do everything I can to make sure my patient's wants and needs are met before my own. I enjoy being of help to others.
I helped with care for my grandmother with dementia during her 12 years of living with my parents, including bathing, medications, transporting with a wheelchair, and managing combative behaviors. I also lived with an elderly friend in Togo who had significant diabetes concerns, and helped with palliative home-care for a friend dying of AIDS. I consider myself to be a patient person. I can relate to the struggle it is for families to find a loving and trustworthy caregiver to come alongside them to work in their home. I feel a compassion and empathy for families walking the hard road of a loved one with dementia or other health struggles. I have worked for the past few years as a hospital chaplain in Togo and helped to develop the chaplaincy program, providing needed emotional and spiritual care to patients and their families.

I am compassionate and caring. I have always enjoyed Elder Care. Service is in my blood: First I served in The Navy starting in 1989. Next I served my community for 18 years as an EMT/Paramedic. I was attracted to being a Caregiver because I enjoy making folks as comfortable as possible, as well as offering peace of mind to the family members of my patients. I appreciate the interaction with my patients most of all. Having parents who are mid-seventies myself, as well as having the training to attend to the varied stages of Alzheimer's with my own Grandmother before her passing a few years ago, the delicate juncture of Geriatrics and long term care, my understanding and skill set are unique. As someone's adult daughter myself, I offer your parents and family the same excellent attention that I give to my own. Love doesn't have an "Off Switch". Favorite Acheivement: Published Author 2016. My Book: Facets of Life is available on Amazon.
