Provided general nursing care to patients in hospital setting. Administered medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques with the supervision of clinical instructors. Aided nursing staff during treatment and examination of assigned patients. Observed patient reaction to drugs, treatments and significant incidents, notified supervisors as needed. Took temperature, pulse, blood pressure and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal ranges and assessed condition of patient overall condition. Rotated 12 hour shifts among various clinical services of aspects in a hospital environment. Rotations included postsurgical, orthopedics, outpatient and patient admission. Prepared rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies upon admission of new patients. Reviewed reports of patient's general physical condition, reactions to medications and past medical/ health history. Examined instruments, equipment and sterile setup to ensure that antiseptic and aseptic methods were followed. Ensured patient safety and followed hospital requirements per protocol at all times

Assisted with all aspects of patient care; AM care (bed baths, oral care, etc.), nutrition assistance, medication administration (PO, Injections, patches), monitored vitals and patient status throughout my shift. All duties performed under supervision of my instructor or nurse.

Maintained 12 hour shifts providing patient care to medical-surgical patients on a telemetry floor. Patient care included; bed baths, blood glucose monitoring, complete vital signs monitoring, catheter care, respiratory care, ostomy care and tracheostomy care. Also assisted with medication administration and other duties as assigned.
