I Cared for an elderly woman with dementia . My responsibilities included :Companionship,Management of medications, scheduling appointments, preparing meals, cleaning, assistance with getting in and out of shower and dressing. She enjoyed doing errands together, laundry and the dishes . Morning routine included meal preparation, medication reminder, help with getting ready and in the bathroom when showering. She was very independent and it helped her confidence for me to allow her to do as much as she possibly could on her own,while being there to help when needed.I was able to help with finding the words that were forgotten by being a great listener and really getting to know her. Her favorite hobby was gardening so that was a common activity. Familiar music from her past and singing along was also a great therapy and activity for her memory and confidence.

On arrival I greeted client ,with Lou Body disease ,and her husband and getting information about any changes or concerns.I provided companionship,personal care, bathing, help getting dressed and overseeing medication. Each day was planned accordingly to her needs. We would walk around the neighborhood on a better day, sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and do arts and crafts , or watch a nice movie.
