I'm a great caregiver because I'm Empathy and compassion. I become a caregiver because I thought one day I would become a nurse, but for now I start with caregiver I hope one day my dream come true.I like to making someone smile,and do things to make the person's day better. I am patient and ready to help with anything from daily living to companionship. I am currently going to school for my Master's in School Counseling and have taken a step back this year. I closed my company and have spent the past 3 years caring for my elderly parents, first my dad, then my mom. I have extensive caregiving experience, altho I am not certified, My experience ranges from extensive wound care, colostomy care, to household duties. My mother recently passed and during the years of caring for her, I have found this is where my heart is. I cared for a dementia client with wound care from 12/16 to 2/17. Client passed.
I am a very caring person and have a passion for helping others. I'm patient, loving, friendly and organized. I have my degree in Special Education and I am currently working in a Functional Skills classroom. Some of the responsibilities I have include feeding, toileting/changing, positioning and one-on-one instruction. I have worked with a number of individuals with a wide range of abilities. I am comfortable working with any age group. I also work with a student with special needs outside of school. We go on bike rides, swim and work on specific skills the parents would like to increase. I am also responsible for toileting, feeding and bathing. I enjoy being able to help out in anyway possible. My passion is helping others and I enjoy every minute of it!
I am a very outgoing and compassionate person. I was attracted to being a caregiver because I love to help people and try to bring joy to people that are in need. I would enjoy that fact that I could be making a difference in someones life. One of my personal achievements that I am proud of was when in one semester I had four class, four labs, research lab, and three different jobs and I still managed to receive a 4.0 GPA.
I became a Caregiver because I wanted to work with seniors. They are wise beyond their years. It is my personal goal to make each person feel very special. I'm outgoing and fun to be around. I love caring for the elderly. Every day is a new day. I enjoy the smiles, I put on someone's face. My family is in the medical field that is what brought me into this type of work. I also have a loved one that has dementia. I'm experienced in Alzheimers and dementia patients. I know CPR and have also taken the Emergency medical technician Course. I can also take care of your loved one if they need hygiene care, light housekeeping and meal preparation. I'm a great cook. I have been a caregiver for 17 years and I love what I do. Its rewarding to make a positive difference in a clients life. My personal achievement are my 2 sons. My husband passed away of a heart attack when they were 1 and 3. I never dated or remarried and raised them on my own. They are the best achievement and I love them more than anything and am so proud of them. We have a wonderful relationship. I devoted all my time to raising my children.
