For me it is an honor to be of service with an elderly or special person \\\"DD\\\" for they really need most of our help or assistance to make them able to do their daily needs. To be a sincere caregiver is to accept and treat your patient as one of your family member. When I was the caregiver of my late mother who had breast and lung cancer, that was the start that I started to understand the true job responsibilities as a Caregiver.
What makes me a great caregiver, is the fact that I actually care for the people I work for. I am a punctual person, and I have a lot of patience and love. What made me decide to become a caregiver was my grandmother. When I was young, I use to care for her a lot, and that was how we connected. I loved taking care of her and decided to make a career out of it. As a caregiver, I become an important part of someone's life, in a good way. Being a caregiver makes me happy, since I have the possibility of making others around me happy. A personal achievement that I am proud of, is when I get to know the person I work for to a point that I don't consider them as simply a patient, but as a friend.

Growing up surrounded by seniors, my entire family was involved with the operation of our business. After retiring my position on the board and moving to Florida in 2002, I obtained my certification as a Patient Care Tech/ Home Health Aide. It was my desire to work caring at a non medical level under the supervision of the individual or family member and allowing me to make a contribution to those in need of home care. As an independent caregiver, I signed on with several area Nurse Registries, Home Health Agencies and Homemaker Companion Services along with taking on private cases of my own. Ultimately, I found myself working far more than anticipated and decided to open PRIVATE CARE AT HOME Homemaker & Companion Service.
