I have been a caregiver/companion since 2005. At that time there were no office jobs available as we endured a recession at that time. Since working with the various agencies, I grew to enjoy my work with seniors as their companion or caregiver. Most of them felt the same about me. Presently I have a client in Oak Brook who does not want anyone else as a caregiver and she always buys me coffee 2 or 3 times per week when we visit the cafe. That's very kind of her. My one client that I had for about 4 years, I was able to help her get her childrens book self-published in 2007. She had always wanted to get her book she wrote in 8th grade published, but didn't know how. She was extremely thrilled when it was finally published. It is always very interesting to hear stories and past history from senior clients. They have much to offer if you will only listen.
