To be a good caregiver you have to be passionate, loyal and caring. You can't go into the healthcare field and think that all person needs are the same because it's not. You have to be flexible to the needs of others. Why I became a CNA I just love caring for others, to know at the end of the day that I was able to help someone that may have read the newspaper for 30 plus year's, but there health may not allow them to see very well or just someone to go get there newspaper. In life its the little things that count. And i just love being apart of the things we sometimes take for granted. .

I am the 40 year old wife, and mother of 2 beautiful teenage girls. I have been working as a caregiver for over 6 years, and have been Certified for 5 years. I am currently a self employed Certified Nursing Assistant. I have been employed at a skilled nursing facility as well as an assisted living facility. I also specialize in private care. Some of my skills include bathing, showering, checking and changing undergarments, providing proper hygiene, ambulating, transfers, mouthcare, feeding, light housekeeping, meal preperation, transportation and much more. I am a caregiver that is compassionate at what I do and it is not just a job for me, it is my calling. So many people are in this field and do not genuinely care, but I like to make a difference in my clients lives and form a forever bond with my residents and their family members. I have experienced a lot being a caregiver, good and bad, but I honestly love what I do. I have lots of experience, and many families that I have worked with adore me. I am proud that I put forth an effort to become certified in what I do. It really does make a difference and shows that I maintain the necessary skills and training.
