I became a caregiver because i grew up with my grandmother in the of country Haiti and when she got sick i saw how the people at the hospital were not taking good care of her so i begged my mom to let me care for her after i got home from school and by the grace of God grandma got better. I happy to be able to lift the burden off my mom when she most needed it. And that opened the door i started volunteering at neighbors homes caring for their parents and i loved it. after i graduated high school 3 yrs later i found myself again caring for my grandma who then pushed me to get my license as an Home health aide, after getting caring for patients wheelchair bound w/ polio patients with dementia and Alzheimer's. i wanted more out of the medical field and then in 2018 i got my certificate as a medical assistant but i missed working as an HHA i decided to go back, been working for Expicare for a couple months and feel fulfilled working at job that i love. i love hearing the stories of their past lives and see their faces light up telling stories of their children and grandchildren, stories of wars, and fashion. sometimes i even find my self using some tips that i was told by patients till this very day.
