About Judith

I have been involved in in-home care giving for over 25 years because I like helping others. I believe that a person is happier and can be better cared for at home than anywhere else, and I have worked and trained to help make that happen. I have also been involved with clients in the hospital, a senior home or assisted living facility, in a rehabilitation hospital, and under the care of hospice. I like preparing nutritious meals, planning activities, and participating in good conversation. I am interested in sports, plays and movies, board games, jigsaw puzzles, and arts and crafts. I also am an avid reader. Though I really enjoy cooking, occasional dining out is also fun.

Experience & Education

Caregiver

Jan 2015 - Feb 2016
Private Home
Twenty-four hour personal care and companionship for a client. Meal preparation and cleanup, transfer assistance, shopped and prepared nutritious meals, ran errands and took client to the doctor and on outings and the beauty shop, light housework and laundry. I lived in the home with this client. She liked to read and we talked about books, the news, and we went to movies occasionally. We met her friends at restaurants or entertained them in her home. She was previously a gardener and enjoyed watching the tomatoes I planted for her growing. I also took her outside so she could pick the dead blooms and leaves off her potted plants. This client had COPD and was on oxygen.

Compassion Care
I provided 24 hour care for one client while her caregiver was off and also during the time she was on vacation. I provided personal care including transferring, bathing, toileting, dressing, planning and preparing meals, and taking her to the doctor. I entertained her with shapes and colors. She had had a stroke and did not read or enjoy television.

Home Instead
I worked for several clients providing housekeeping service and personal care. I provided 24 hour care for one client for about 15 months where I was with her half the month. I provided personal care including assisting with her bath, toileting, dressing, transferring, meal preparation and planning, and grocery shopping. I took her to her doctors, the beauty shop, restaurants, and other outings. I took care of her dog also. He was sick much of the time and I took him to the vet and gave medication and supervised his very restrictive diet. Though this client had Alztheimer's Disease, she had been a school teacher and we had many wonderful conversations, and she enjoyed television, especially Georgia football games.

Family and Friends
I provided caregiving for family and friends furnishing transportation to appointments and for entertainment purposes. A few of these friends were severely handicapped with multiple sclerosis, one of which I fed his meals. I provided companionship with conversation, reading, games, and outings. These people were dealing with crippling diseases such as MS, aging, COPD, etc. These experiences were rewarding to me and prompted me to pursue caregiving as a career.

I became a caregiver because of my mother, At the age of 10 my mother died and I couldn't do nothing to help her. So I decided to get in the medical field for that reason. I love being a caregiver because it is a passion of mine to see people smile, and live there life to the fullest. Some of my achievements are attending school for certification, and also I am now enrolled in school for Health Information Systems and Business Administration. I chose this field because I want to make sure the patients get the treatment, respect, and etc they deserve. I want to see people that take care of these patients act professionally, and treat the patients like the way they (caregivers) would want to be treated. Everybody tells me I have a wonderful personality, and they can tell I care about the patients needs. I like to have fun, spending time with family. I am here to help. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant and also have CPR and First Aid Card. I am very skilled in the following: • Range of Motion (ROMs) • Cancer Care • Hospice Care • Diabetes Care • Normal Activities for daily living better known as (ADLs) • Stroke Care • ODD • Respite Care • Respiratory Care • Spinal Injury Care • Long Term Care • ADHD • Down Syndrome Care • Assisted Living Care • Infant Care • Babysitting Services • Tube Feeding Care • Overnight Care • Spinal Injury Care • Tube Feeding Care • Nanny Services • Pain Management • Medication Aide • Mobility Care • Dementia (AKA Alzheimer's) • Cerebral Palsy • Autism • Any Many More I also can assist with errands, laundry, doctors’ Appointments, dishes, meal preparation, paper work, very skilled with computers and many more.
