Hello. I am a 28 year old man that's currently in school to become a Physician Assistant. I love assisting others with needs and being an extra hand as needed. I am a great listener and love to have fun with other as well
The reason why I enjoy being a PCA (caregiver) is because I consider myself to be very compassionate , caring - hard worker. I love caring for people of all ages because it warms my heart. I am a Paraprofessional full time for the Dekalb County School System, working with individuals with disabilities and I LOVE IT. My personal achievement I am very proud of is when I assisted a patient to change her diet and start exercising. A few months later, she noticed a difference in how she felt and her health improved to the point she was able to get off of two of her medications.
I have 12 years experience in the healthcare industry. I have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and I am able to respond quickly to emergency situations. I have been responsible for several private in home care patients and found my passion in providing quality care, while serving and bonding with my patients.
Working with people to help them live as normal a life as possible is very important to me. I enjoy helping people and myself learn more from them than they do me. I pride myself in being compassionate and patient in helping people. My clients and their families have always become a second family to me. I was able to take care of my grandmother and enjoyed it so much. The time we had together in her last years have meant so much to me. We were always close and for me to be able to give back to her and help her was such a blessing.
I became a caregiver to help others that cannot help themselves . I like being a care giver because I enjoy the fact that I wake up to help someone and that I am providing caregiving services that they can no longer do for themselves. A personal achievement that I am proud of is that I can meet new people and make people smile . I have been in the care giving business for the past seventeen years. One reason I particularly enjoy this business, and the challenges that go along with it, is the opportunity to connect with people. In my current job, I formed some significant patient relationships.
Very caring and active individual. Loves to engage patient in conversation. Study patient's behavior in order to determine their mood and what they were up to for the day. Took very good care of the patient. Cared for my mother, also an Alzheimer patient for 14 years, from October 1996 until September 2010. Learned a lot from her experience with the disease. Patient's needs were my first concern. Always putting the patient first and allowing the patient to have an input on what they were feeling up to doing.
My personality is friendly sometimes to a fault. I genuinely love people, especially my elders. I find that it is a great honor to be used to assist in a better quality of life for my seniors. I am very outgoing, and people tell me I am funny. I love humor. I like to serve from a child my grand mom always told me. I have been in the medical field for more than 16 years. Started out as a CNA, went back to school to study more of the terminologies of different diseases and illnesses. The best feeling in life is knowing that you are making a difference in a persons life. I am so proud to say that every family I have ever worked for is now my friend and family for life. For that I am very proud. Caregivers Rock!!
