I feel that I'm a great caregiver because I really listen and enjoying spending Quality time by getting to know the patient. I truly love helping people my background has actually been with children for about 20 years and now I've switched to home care but to me it is still being a helper and a companion.
My personality is friendly sometimes to a fault. I genuinely love people, especially my elders. I find that it is a great honor to be used to assist in a better quality of life for my seniors. I am very outgoing, and people tell me I am funny. I love humor. I like to serve from a child my grand mom always told me. I have been in the medical field for more than 16 years. Started out as a CNA, went back to school to study more of the terminologies of different diseases and illnesses. The best feeling in life is knowing that you are making a difference in a persons life. I am so proud to say that every family I have ever worked for is now my friend and family for life. For that I am very proud. Caregivers Rock!!
My love for providing care for seniors started as a child, taking care of my late grandma at the age 12. I notice how my grandmother eyes will light up, when I would come after school to help her. I discovered the enjoyment of their company, the knowledge and wisdom we all can gain from them.

I am naturally passionate about caring for others, it is my souls purpose because it is what fulfills my happiness, being a help and having a positive impact on those around me and those in most need. I am very enthusiastic, positive, and very empathetic. I absolutely love meeting new people, collaborating with people from different cultures, generations, and social backgrounds allow me to open up my perspectives which allows me to better understand all people to better understand myself! The simple fact that I live by positive impact, it is my duty as a human and a child of creation, what better than to spread love and kindness! I have accomplished a lot of great things in life such as graduating highschool with a semester of college, five medical certifications, and winning three unacademic scholarships, but I am most proud of myself for overcoming adversity, not giving up on life and continuing to grow and keep a loving optimistic spirit through it all!
The reason why I enjoy being a PCA (caregiver) is because I consider myself to be very compassionate , caring - hard worker. I love caring for people of all ages because it warms my heart. I am a Paraprofessional full time for the Dekalb County School System, working with individuals with disabilities and I LOVE IT. My personal achievement I am very proud of is when I assisted a patient to change her diet and start exercising. A few months later, she noticed a difference in how she felt and her health improved to the point she was able to get off of two of her medications.
