Life is about caregiving. When I was younger, I cared for a widow for several years until her death. I cared for my mother for six months until her death from ALL. I have had three caregiving positions which were compensatory. My last position ( as part of a team) was of long duration, but recently ended when the family opted to place their loved one in a memory care facility. I have cared for the elderly in my neighborhood, visiting, cooking, shopping etc. on a "good neighbor" basis. I retired in 2014 from my last career position in the medical field. Although I am not qualified to be a medical caregiver, I am medically savvy and have proven that I can handle emergencies should any arise. I consider myself a very nurturing person. I am competent and compassionate and caring . I have experience with immobility, dementia, chronic and terminal illness. I strive to make a difference...oh, and I am also a good cook.
