About Patricia

I believe what makes me a great caregiver is my compassion for others in need. I love to help people, but more specifically the elderly. I feel a high percentage of elderly people are most at risk of injury through accidents while taking on activities they are no longer able to safely do themselves. I became a temporary caregiver for a few weeks, staying with my 90 year-old grandmother after she broke her hip. I knew she would be in a lot of pain and grumpy, but it didn't bother me a bit. I always expect people in pain not to feel so good. I am a bright, cheery person and always like easing others with a smile and a good sense of humor. I am currently caring for my father's cousin who needs help with the basics: grocery shopping, laundry and house cleaning, cooking, picking up mail, and ambulatory needs with movement in and out of the wheelchair. I am proud to have helped install her Amerilert system. I believe what makes me a great caregiver is my good listening skills and kindness toward others.

I am currently assisting my father's cousin who is waiting to have heart surgery. She currently is wheelchair bound and suffers from a number of additional ailments as well (diabetes, hypertension, arthritis). I do her grocery shopping, household duties (laundry, cleaning), ambulatory needs, cooking, and good company.

I cared for my mother (live in) who suffers from arthritis, needed a hip replacement and had to wait 6 months to get a surgery date. I had to be sure she took her meds on time, helped with ambulatory issues (sitting to standing, getting in and out of the car); I also cared for my mother very recently recover from breast cancer surgery.
