, AS A YOUNG GIRL I READ A SERIES OF BOOKS CALLED {THE NURSES}, ABOUT THE LIVES OF NURSES IN HOSPITAL SETTINGS, FROM THEN ON I NEW I WANTED TO BE A NURSE OR WORK IN THE MEDICAL FIELD CARING FOR PEOPLE. I ALSO WAS ON A WORK PROGRAM THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL IN WHICH HALF A DAY I COULD LEAVE SCHOOL AND WORK ON MY TRADE IN HOSPITALS, NURSING HOMES AND OTHER RELATED PLACES. WHICH BRINGS ME TO WHAT I LIKE ABOUT BEING A CAREGIVER: THROUGH OUT MY YEARS I'VE LEARNED SO MUCH, I'VE BEEN VERY FORTUNATE TO LEARN ONE ON ONE WITH DOCTORS, NURSES, OTHER HEALTH PROVIDERS, I TOOK MANY COARSES AND WORKSHOPS IN NURSING AND WORKED TOWARD MY GOAL OF CARING FOR THE GERIATRIC POPULATION {ELDERLY}, LEARNING EVERY DETAIL OF HOW THEIR MINDS WORK IN SICKNESS AND JUST BEING OLD, KNOWING THE HEALTH PROBLEMS AND DISEASES THAT ARISE. BEING ABLE TO GIVE A PATIENT ONE ON ONE CARE THAT THEY NEED AND DESERVE. AS TO A PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT'S IM PROUD OF: IT WOULD HAVE TO BE MY CAREER, I'M PROUD BEING ABLE TO DEAL WITH SITUATIONS THAT ARISE, THAT THEIR CAREGIVERS OR COMPANIONS FINE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE OR INTOLERABLE TO HANDLE. FOR AN EXAMPLE: ALZIEHMERS, DEMENTIA, FAMILY'S HAVE BEEN TORN APART BY NOT COPING WITH CERTAIN DISEASES, AND THEIR EXTREME PERSONALITY CHANGES, I HAVE THE HANDS ON KNOWLEDGE AND COPING SKILLS TO DO THIS, AND DO IT WELL.
