About Allyson

Hi! My name is Allyson. I have many years experience being a caregiver. I always take my job very seriously. I am there to make sure my patient gets the best care possible according to their needs, but I am also there to be a companion and keep my patient company. I have experience with severe Alzheimer's, Dementia, Arthritis, Guillain Barre, Parkinsons Diease, paralyzation, cancer, end of life/hospice care, as well as many other things. I became interested in being a caregiver after my grandparents got to the point where they needed daily care. I knew then that caregiving was for me. It is very important to me to form a bond with each of my patients. Caregiving is not just a job for me, I enjoy the bonds I create with my patients and cherish them. I learn quickly and understand that every person needs different care. It is not always an easy job, but it is worth it! I am always very encouraging, positive, and uplifting with my patients. I believe doing activities appropriate to the patient is very important. I am comfortable running errands, providing transportation to appointments, bathing, dressing, grooming, giving medications when needed, and to simply be an amazing companion. For many years I was a caregiver for an elderly couple. The husband had Alzheimer's, Dementa, and Parkinson's Disease. I cared for him until he passed away in February. I also cared for his wife. She has dementia, arthritis, Guillain Barre, and she is paralyzed from the waste down. I was responsible for running errands, housekeeping, laundry, helping with showers, doing activities, taking them to doctors appointments, giving medications, and simply being a companion.

I had the pleasure of caring for an elderly woman who had cancer. I took care of her before and after she was bed ridden and under hospice care. I was responsible for running errands for her, taking her to doctors appointments, bathing her, dressing her, doing her hair, taking her out for dinner when she wanted to eat out, giving her her medications, housekeeping, laundry, etc. Once she was under hospice care and bed ridden I was responsible for changing her diapers, giving her sponge baths, caring for her bed sores, and many other things needed while she was unable to get out of bed.
