I have my entire life been taught that it takes a village. We take care of our own. That being said, I had a genuine interest at a young age for whatever medical needs came up in our very large family. I picked up easily wound care as there have been amputations to heal from. I've had extensive practical experience with Cerebral Palsy as my mother has it and the side issues that come with it are not well documented nor studied. I learned by helping and by being kind but nosey with others when I got half a chance. Cancer riddles my family on the maternal side as well. I've been through 2 intense battles with cancer, the most recent loss was my Gram a year ago this month. Her battle lasted 12 years and in the end, we we're blessed with a death at home, calm, dignified and holding her daughter's hand as she passed. There is so much more with this. Injuries, reversing the need for cholesterol medications thru natural supplements and guidance from doctors that also happily reversed the need for Insulin therapy as well. Several sessions of physical therapy. Custodial care for a lovely elder of 85 with stage 3 Alzheimer's. I stayed with her till she reached late into stage 4 and was becoming more of a danger to herself than I was comfortable with. She has since passed along with her sister who suffered from Dementia.
