I became a caregiver because I realized early on that my hands were an extension of God's hand touching someone elses. My time was appointed for helping others. I feel overjoyed when I can make others happy at some fulfilled task that have accomplished something for others, I have a son 30 and 2 grands (2 adorable girls ages 5 and 7). I have a lovely daughter 21 attending college for a degree in Physical Therapist. I have a strong faith in God, and believe in helping others.
THE REASON I BECAME A CAREGIVER WAS BECAUSE GROWING UP I TOOK CARE OF MY BABY BROTHER,WHO WAS BORN WITH HIS INTESTINES ON THE OUTSIDE. PLUS,FOLLOWING HIS ILLNESS,MY GRANDMOTHER AND MOTHER HAD STROKES AND NEEDED CAREGIVERS. SOME OF THE NURSES AND CNA'SINSPIRED ME TO GET PAID DOING SOMETHING I WAS PASSIONATE ABOUT.

I have been a CNA for 6 years with experience in all different areas. I am compassionate, loveavle, and caring. I always treat my patients/clients as top priority. I became a caregiver because I've always wanted to help others. Especially when my grandma got diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease it made me want to work with patients with that disease even more. I enjoy seeing my patients/clients feel like they have accomplished a goal or a step towards their goals. I also like making them feel like someone cares for them and has their best interest at heart. I am proud to have the amount of years of experie ce that I have, and I am proud to know that most of my patients from previous companies still compliment my work.

Remaining healthy and maintaining independence is very important. As a Caregiver, you are able to play a vital part in achieving the goal of continued health. You are at your best, when you feel your best. One of my most proud moments, occured when I was able to help a recent client to start exercising more, which lead to them taking steps and eventually walking. I have my entire life been taught that it takes a village. We take care of our own. That being said, I had a genuine interest at a young age for whatever medical needs came up in our very large family. I picked up easily wound care as there have been amputations to heal from. I've had extensive practical experience with Cerebral Palsy as my mother has it and the side issues that come with it are not well documented nor studied. I learned by helping and by being kind but nosey with others when I got half a chance. Cancer riddles my family on the maternal side as well. I've been through 2 intense battles with cancer, the most recent loss was my Gram a year ago this month. Her battle lasted 12 years and in the end, we we're blessed with a death at home, calm, dignified and holding her daughter's hand as she passed. There is so much more with this. Injuries, reversing the need for cholesterol medications thru natural supplements and guidance from doctors that also happily reversed the need for Insulin therapy as well. Several sessions of physical therapy. Custodial care for a lovely elder of 85 with stage 3 Alzheimer's. I stayed with her till she reached late into stage 4 and was becoming more of a danger to herself than I was comfortable with. She has since passed along with her sister who suffered from Dementia.
