Hi! My name is Cheyann, Im a Georgia peach born and raised and I'm 20 years old. What attracted me most about being a caregiver is in the name. I'm providing care to someone who can no longer care for themselves in all the ways they used to. I'm helping a person in need. A person just like you and me. My parents aren't old, they're in their 50's, my boyfriend's dad however is in his 70's. He jokes with me about my job, that I'm just changing diapers all day and I told him that he plays and makes jokes but that I'm taking care of someone's dad, someone's grandmother. I tell him that it could be very well be his dad some day soon. The things I enjoy most about being a caretaker is the satisfaction of knowing I helped someone. Knowing I made someone smile. I connect with my patients on a deeper level. I make them laugh, I make them feel comfortable with me and I give them a sense of peace. I treat them as if they were my own family. I grow to think of them as such.
