Hello my name is Manica Leon and I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for 15+years. I love and enjoy taking care of people. The people I care for often times become more than just a patient, they become famliy. I also took care of my paralyzed mother for three years after an awful stroke. Being a Certified Nursing assistant is a rewarding and humbling field for me. I always try to encourage my patients to never give up and know that things could be way worst. I give them a positive outlook on the life they currently have and that they are loved. If your looking for someone who is compassionate, loving, understanding and is passionate about what they do please give me a call you will not regret it.

My patience make allowances for the client to help do their own personal care and tasks, even if it takes the client longer to accomplish than it would take me.
The elderly has a wealth of knowledge that they love to share about life and their experiences. I enjoy their appreciation for you being their caregiver and they seem so grateful. I treat them the same way I would like to be treated and the way I would like my mother to be treated if she needed care. Empathy and compassion. Working with people in a home care setting, it is essential that a caregiver feel the desire to want to help. By showing both empathy and compassion caregivers will let the person they are caring for know that they care about the person and want to do what they can to help them.

I became a caregiver because of a family member who became very ill. I became his caretaker and enjoyed taking care of him even though it was a difficult time for me. He was very comfortable with the care that was provided and it was something I knew I wanted to do from that time on. What I like most about being a Caregiver is I like to see that a patient/client is being well cared for and that I am making that happen for them. I like to see the satisfaction on their faces knowing I have done a job well done. A personal achievement I am proud of is that every patient/client that I have worked with, providing care for, was very pleased with my work and they have expressed it with words of appreciation themselves and with my supervisors. I am a person who takes my job seriously and I like to be proficient in my work. I have been in the Healthcare field for 15 plus years and am very skilled in it. I like to get the job done right the first time. I can also be humorous with the patient/client when it is appropriate to make their day a little brighter. I really enjoy working with them.

I have a history of 30 years as a caregiver. I started as a Home Health Aide in Hospice with 2 companies for 7 years. American Hospice and Central Hospice, due to a back injury I left the company and started private duty from the recommendation of one of my Hospice nurses. A month after starting with Hospice that I hadn't ever heard of at the time, I felt I had found my calling in life. I'm a great Caregiver because I treat my patients as my own family, I show respect to the family and their needs and try to recommend the best scenario for the family needs. 98% of my private jobs has been from past families. My very first family of over 20 years ago I'm still in touch with. I having had two clients on the LVAC heart machine. Cooking, laundry and light housekeeping. Errands, grocery shopping and Dr. Appts. I have reliable transportation. References avaible upon request.
