Hello, my name is Monique Douglas, I live in Staten Island NY. I have been working in the nursing field as an HHA/PCA about 20 yrs now. I have worked inside assistant living facilities as well as the homes of patients. My job is not to take away the ablity to do for self other than to provide assists as needed. Encouragement is a must! It is important in some cases to gain a little independence back. The ones who aren't able., I am there to assist with all total needs daily as they continue to live on their normal daily lives. I have also worked in a Nursing Home as a Recreational Aide providing daily activities and I must say, most of my experience come from working with different personalities on a one to one bases by each individual. I realize each individual are different and are very much like to be treated in that way. One of my job duties I had to make sure everything I do daily is fitting the needs of that person. I love caring for people, I've always been built with a big warm loving heart who shows compassion and empathy. I pretty much enjoy what I do. My drive is to help others as best I can. One thing most about me, I always make sure that each individual are as happy as I am before my shift ends.
