Traits that help me be a great caregiver is that I'm sweet, gentle, very understanding and I have patience. What attracted me to become a caregiver is that I just love to help people. No matter if their young or elderly that's always been something that I've always been good at. What I enjoy about being a caregiver is making people feel like it's not the end of the world, seeing people smile and making them feel better on their worse days.

I am a 34 years old mother of 5, i have a chronically ill son myself so i am familiar with many tasks of helping and taking care of special needs and or many health issues. I love people and love helping with their everyday needs of life, i have worked in childcare for over 15 years where i have completed many tasks and went above and beyond for others. I was a nanny when i was a teenager helping with special needs and children with physical/mental health diagnosis, i am very loving, caring, compassionate and love what i do....helping others! In my eyes not only am I helping them but they help me as well, from stories of their past to the way the world has changed. I have not met an elderly person that I haven't learned something from. I have been a caregiver for the past 5 years. All my patients become a part of my family. I am very passionate about my work and the care I give to the client. I go above and beyond to make sure the clients are happy.

I became a care giver because growing up my mother was a nurse and I watched her and the excitement and the delight she got out of being able to help people. I've always thought I want to be able to help people like she did for so many years. I like that I can not only help these individuals with their daily living but I also get to be a part in their life and their story. I love to listen to their life stories most of them are really fascinating. I love the feeling I get when a resident thanks me for just doing my job. A personal achievement I am proud of would be the births of my two sons and being able to take care of them being a single parent.

I love being a caregiver. I feel this is what I am intended to do. Every person I care for becomes family to me and I care for them as I did for my parents.

To me caregiving is not a job, it's a passion, I go above and beyond for my clients. I enjoy what I do. I like to be the one to bring a smile to someone's face. A personal achievement of mine, was after 20 years helping someone get fitted for a wheelchair and watching them have some independence, I have several certificates, including ..., Home Health Aid, Med Tech, courses I've completed along the way are, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens , HIV/AIDS comprehensive,Alzheimer's Disease ,Acute Renal Failure, CPR, AED, And Basic First Aid. All though I have lots of experience , there is room for mistakes/Growth in learning a families routine. I believe in giving my all always.
