My personality is always extremely cheerful, positive and upbeat and it is contagious! I looked forward to seeing and interacting with them and they with me! My dad had Alzheimer's and I assisted in his care and managed his medical care until his death. I was his voice when he no longer had one. Over the years I have also helped take care of grandparents and other family members. This gave me the experience and ignited the fire and passion I have for elder care, I am their biggest "cheerleader" and best friend but also know how to encourage and be firm when it is tied directly to their medical well being!

I have been a Certified Medical assistant for 28 years I have specialized in Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Cardiology, and Ear, Nose and Throat. I enjoy being around other people and being able to help them with their needs. It gives me great pleasure and joy when I'm able to make others feel better. I was a caregiver for my father for many years and I feel that that experience coupled with my medical assisting experience has made me more empathetic to people's situations.

I have been caring for my Mother, who is 86 and has dementia, and her husband, who is 96 years old and a WW II Veteran, for over a year now. So patience is my best virtue. Driving calm without speeding, and walking through stores at a slower pace are fine by me. And making it to Dr and medical appointments without stress. Being kind is the best medicine for the soul.

After high school I worked with children for 8 years in group homes and in a psychiatric hospital before discovering Occupational Therapy. For the last 11+ years I have worked in skilled nursing facilities working with older adults with disabilities as an Occupational Therapy Assistant to increase their independence with meaningful activities. I enjoy making a positive impact in peoples lives by providing encouragement and love using humor in my work. I recently moved from Maine to Florida and am licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, with a current NBCOT certification.
