I have always been a caregiver since I was a kid I have a passion for taking care of people to where it doesn't feel like it is a job anymore to me my personality is to be friendly outgoing and always take care of someone what makes me happy is taking care of people all together a personal achievement for me would be to better myself in my career and to help make someone's life more comfortable and happy for them too

What makes me a great caregiver to me are I will go above and beyond for my residents a are whomever I work for. I am a perfectionist down to the last detail. What 1st attracted me to being a caregiver was my Grandmother she was an LPN up until her 2nd Surgery and was very proud of beinging an LPN. What solidified my beinging a caregiver are a CNA was my oldest son which put me in the role early on of becoming a caregiver He was had to have several surgeries do to a rare Gastrointestinal situation which caused him to be on An IV at all times, a feeding tube and a colostomy Bag for while but not anymore he is 16 now and will be celebrating 17 years of life in 6 month with none of the above. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is simply just the pure love of being able to help someone out period. Being able to see my 1st patient my oldest son see 16 and knowing it was partly my aiding in his care that got him to this milestone in his life is my personal achievement.

I decided to be a caregiver because it's something that I've always been used to my grandmother was blind and had cancer my mother had three strokes she was also diabetic and on dialysis I had a sister that was diabetic and I also take care of my brother now who's completely blind he's also diabetic and on dialysis so this is my nature this is what I know to help and take care of people I feel like that's my calling in life I have empathy and am often told I have a sweet and calming spirit I realize that being disabled can be very frustrating at times so I believe that I have the patience to be able to help clients through those difficult times.

I was a caregiver to a quadriplegic professor when I was in college to help pay for my tuition. After college, I continued doing private care on the side for some Alzheimer patients at a nursing home. In 2004, I enrolled at a nursing school for a year and a half. I did not finish my degree, but I did receive my certification as a CNA and as a Medication Technician. I keep up to date with the newest discoveries and findings in the world of medicine. Even though I have not had any new medical training, I am current on my knowledge of diseases, medications and side effects of such medications. For instance, I am aware that when you care for an Alzheimer's patient, you step into his/her world, and not insist that he/she conforms to your expectations of what is real. I am compassionate and capable. All of the kids are either all grown or almost grown, but I still have this vast need to nurture. My husband refuses to be smothered, so, I need to go out of the house and find someone else who would appreciate being cared for :-) My kids are my biggest accomplishment. The eldest is going to medical school this summer, and the middle one is attending UMKC in August. The youngest one is doing great as a Sophomore while giving out just enough sass to maintain her teenage status.

Growing up I have always been very interested in helping people for their daily living. I am kind, gentle, and very compassionate person. What attracted me to being a caregiver was generally to help people and advocate for people. What enjoy most about being a caregiver is to be able help people in their sickness and you see how their health improves. One of my personal achievements is to be able to graduate from school, proud of that.

I became a caregiver because that is what I love to do. I enjoy taking care of others. If someone is in need of something I am there to help. I have achieved a level of confidence in this career choice that allows me to help my patients at any level of care that is needed. I am a wife and a mother of three, I think I have experience in all levels of home care.

By nature I am an empath ; I am able to walk in another persons shoe per say or feel what or how they may be feeling, In addition I love to listen mostly than talking, I do talk but I am more of a listener and talk when necessary. I enjoy drawing and painting or any thing artistry , I love music ,hiking and yoga. I do my best to always stay loyal , honest and humble.

What makes me a great caregiver is that my passion has always been to take care of people. It is something that comes natural to me. I was a medical assistant for 20+ years and one of my favorite roles was being a patient advocate and just being able to do what the patient needed to make their day easier for them.
