I am a healthcare professional with 25+ years experience working in geriatric, memory care, dementia and Alzheimer's patients. I work in hospice care, palliative medicine, end of life care. I am a patient, compassionate, good listener, kind, caring caregiver. I do skilled nursing, wound care, first aid, post surgery care for transitioning patients to homecare. My start in healthcare was volunteering at the Red Cross, church and community outreach , I have worked eight years at the Washtenaw County DHS with CLS/CMH organizations as consumer advocate . I have worked long years managing assisted living facilities, nursing homes, directing memory care units, training, teaching and mentoring. I have earned Bachelor's of Science from EMU and Surgical Technology program from WCC. I am passionate about helping people to better their lives and improve their health.

My name is Rebecca. I've been a professional care giver for over 19years. I love my job because it has so many rewards within itself. I've managed a 6 man group home for the last 4 years with only minuscule issues. Regardless of the fact that I have children at home I'm quite flexible with scheduling although I would love to work mornings while my children are at school, it's not a must and I have no problem doing overtime.

What makes me a great caregiver, is the love and passion I have to be one to care for another. I enjoy doing it, im not in it for the paycheck, I do it because it makes me feel good knowing I can help someone. I always grew up wanting to help others in one way or another.. I am enthusiastic Home Health Aide that enjoys helping others. The reason why I decided to become an Aide because I took care of my sick mother and the hospice company thought that I did such a good job I should think about becoming an Aide. I enjoy the conversations the most and knowing that I may have helped someone at the hardest time of their lives. I am a proud parent of one and she makes me feel the proudest.

I was born in a caregiver role as a child. I took care of my siblings when I was much younger. When I was in middle school my grandmother had an operation on her back and I took care of her until she was able to take care of herself. I was in school and I wanted to take care of the elderly. So I took a C.N.A. course and I worked at the School of Nursing. I worked with an elderly woman privately and I enjoyed watching movies with her. She loved Forrest Gump. I like the assignment that I have. I got her walking when they said she couldn't walk, I got her up from being bed bound twice. I had to help her. First we crawled, then she stood up, balance was our next step, and then a few steps here, and then full walking transfers! They said she is a walking miracle. I am proud of myself that I was able to follow doctors orders, nurse orders, P.T. and O.T. exercises.

I specialize in many walks of life. I have worked in rehab as well as long term. I am covid vaccinated with booster and cpr certified.

I have been a caregiver for the majority of my life. First starting with providing care for my multiply impaired daughter for 26 years. I'm very capable of providing quality care to disabled individuals. As I have the utmost compassion for people facing challenges.I have experience in working in a group home setting as well. I am C.N.A. certified.

I started my career in Health Care right out of High school. I have over 20 years experience. I have worked Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Hospice. With that I have seen a lot & been taught by some amazing leaders. I go into each home with the attitude of this could be my Parent/ Grandparent, Treat them as how i would want my family cared for. My favorite thing about being a caregiver is the history of my patents. It brings so much joy to see them smile and relive there favorite memories of the past. I held my Certified Nursing assistant license for many years & only gave it up when I choose to not work in Nursing Homes. I keep up with all the latest training & have many certificates.
