Hello. (I am just starting out with Carelinx )I have been a caregiver pretty much my whole life. My first child was born with a host of health issues as well as ASD and extreme ADHD. Professionally I've been doing it for about 5 years. I started taking care of my father as he aged and provided his hospice care. Then I did it professionally after his death for a friend who hired me because I know how to navigate the va health system. I then started it professionally after relocating to MO. I am very compassionate and truly love caring for others. I became a caregiver to my sister in Los Angeles, CA, who had cancer in 2015. After she passed away, I knew that this was my calling. I was told by the staff at Cedar Saini that they appreciated my help while I was there looking after my sister. The staff acknowledged my patience and compassion towards other patients also. I earned my CNA and worked in a nursing home as well as providing in home care for others who were like my sister. My life changed, as I knew there was no better way for me to contribute to others by helping them daily. I enjoyed their company and looked forward to making a difference!

My sophomore year of high school I had to become my own mother's nurse. She had gastroentestinal and esophageal dysmotility that caused her to have a feeding tube. I was already interested in the medical field but having that first hand experience really set it in stone. I also have my own auto immune disease, which means I was in and out of hospitals. I was able to see how much a care giver can positively or negatively impact a patient's life. I am only 18 years old and I do not have my CNA certificate yet. However, the medical industry has impacted my lif and I have a passion to be a part of it. In a positive way.
