I worked as a PCA at Lowell general hospital in the ICU for 7 years where I gained a ton of knowledge and I enjoyed it very much, following that I accepted a postion as a practice manager of a primary care physican office which I was employed there for 18.5 years, my family and I relocated and purchased a home in Rindge NH and we love it here. I've been doing home care since 2021 and I absolutely adore helping others, I have a soft spot for elders, and all humans in need of help, being a PCA/HHA gives me great purpose in life and I truly enjoy meeting new clients and being able to provide them with the highest quality care they deserve. My name is Chelsea. I have worked in nursing homes/ primary care for 10 years. I find myself a very caring, compassionate, patient and understanding person. I try to find the good in every situation. In the last year I took a break from healthcare and took a position in childcare. Somewhat the same as care giving but on the other end of the spectrum. I enjoy creating relationships with my patients and giving them the care they deserve. While working in elderly care I found a majority of the staff was there for the paycheck, I can't say that for myself. I felt important as I became closer with my residents as they felt the comfortable with me as they couldn't with some of the staff. Caring for people makes me feel good because I am making someone feel happy and that is important at their time in life no matter what age, Having to have help is always hard and to have someone that understands , is patient and kind is key in my eyes.

I enjoy having a positive impact and being able to help people. I'm proud of making a change of career to LNA after two degrees and a life in sales and management. Ever since freshman year in high school, I have always wanted to do something that related to the medical field. First it was orthopedics and then pharmacy. I did not know that my mind would change to care giver until my junior year. I took a health science technology class starting my junior year. It was a two year class. Junior year was more focused on anatomy and physiology and Senior year we got to decide which path we wanted to go down. I chose the LNA path. I have always wanted to help people and going towards this path seemed like a sure-fire way to get there. I loved doing my clinicals at the two nursing homes near my school. It was an amazing experience. Knowing that I can help someone get through their day a little easier meant the world to me. Almost six years after graduating high school, I am still doing what I love and taking care of the people that need it the most.

Sincere companionship, listening and hearing what my clients express through observations of physical and emotional status opens the opportunity for me to address issues with gentle non-judgemental compassion manner.

Becoming a Caregiver was out of necessity, to fulfill one woman's simple request of not being placed into a nursing home. She had had a challenging childhood: daily nourishment often was tea and bread; coats were used as blankets during the evening. She persevered during her marriage, raising a brood of children while being the dutiful wife. So, when called upon, it was an opportunity to give back. I have found that I have great resolve, have not floundered in my integrity, and have given care with compassion and kindness. In doing so, I have been greatly rewarded.
