I'm a mother of two kids, one boy and one girl. I spend most of my days with my kids. I enjoy working with patients who need a companion in their live. I mostly enjoy helping patients with Alzheimer's, I find them to be the most amazing people to talk to. I enjoy talking about their past and their memories. Hello, My name is DeAnna. I have been in the line of health care for 13 years, working in nursing homes as a state Certified Nurses Aide as well as in private homes as a Home Health Aide. I have worked with many various ailments both mental and physical. I specialize in rehabilitation, Alzheimer's/Dementia, and skilled nursing/hospice. I love knowing that I am making a positive difference in someone's life! I also own and operate a senior care and service company. My personal traits that make me a great caregiver is that I like to get to know my clients that Im working for and getting to know clients likes and dislikes their favorite food tv shows What attracted me to become a caregiver is that my mom was in a car accident and had a brain injury from it I had to teach her how to shower read and daily activities at the age of 13

About 10 years ago, my great grandmother had a stroke and is now paralyzed completely on her left side. I took time to take care of her all throughout high school and still now. I would stay the night with her and get her up and ready in the morning before I went to school. Just this past year, my great grandpa found out that he had throat cancer. He currently has had a trachea port put in. With that being said, I have been with him and my great grandma taking care of her needs and taking care of him, cleaning the port and transporting them to and from their doctors appointments.

I have been doing nursing care all levels since for over 20 plus years - I put persons care as #1 priority- the person I care for is my main focus. I decided to become a caregiver because growing up my grandmother had early onset Alzheimer's, I watched how her caregivers supported her but our family as well. I started working at an assisted living facility during college and then transitioned into home care. I feel like often times when being a caregiver you are meeting someone at a challenging point in their life. It takes understanding, patience, kindness. I enjoy being part of a team that can make the transition of needing care not only easier on the families but as easy as possible for the person needing care.

I have been taking care of people for 17 years, elderly, children and people with disabilities. I was In School full time until a few weeks ago. I am waiting to be accepted into a registered nursing program. I enjoy what I do especially when it is to benefit the people I am caring for. I am married with four children.
