What makes me a great caregiver is that I am able to relate to the needs of my clients base on individuality. I am very compassionate towards my clients. I try my very best to understand their needs and find a solution to it. I became a caregiver not only to help people who are at a disadvantage but rather because I care about people and enjoy being a part of their lives. For many years I've lived away from my father, but the moment I received a phone call that he had a stroke I dropped everything and went to care for him until he recovered. That alone shows how caring and concern I am about people who are unable to care for themselves. Both my parents are illiterate and for me to be the first out of four siblings to go to college and graduate was a very good accomplishment for me. My name is Katy! A little about me I took care of my father when he was alive he was bed ridden due to amputation, diabetes and kidney disease. I have experience in Alzheimer's and Dementia care,Home health care as well as Assisted living care . Experience in transferring and Diabetic care. I was also a housekeeper for many years and a personal assistant. I am able to multitask very well. I really love giving time to talk with my patients/clients to make them feel great! They just need someone to talk to. Great companion ship is key! I love working with the elderly and listening to the stories they have from back in the day. As a caregiver I tend to be kind and nurturing. I'm also organized and on time. I'm a part time Human Services student working towards my LCDC as second career. I've always had a caregiver role in most of my past jobs and as a volunteer. I'm knowledgeable to plan meals that are diabetic friendly or for other medical conditions. Nutrition has a crucial role in managing chronic concerns.

I just love being able to take care for others. It puts a smile on my face to be able to make someone else happy. It's important that I can make a difference in someone's life. I also enjoy building cherished memories. Growing up I took care of my great, great grandmother who had dementia and I was there for her until God called her home.

I am a great caregiver, because I always do my best with alot of passion. My goal is to comport, encourage and make my client feel much better than I found them. Also i remind my clients to count their blessings more than what their facing on a daily basis. I always wanted to be caregiver because i knew i am capable and talented in bringjng a difference in people's daily life. I enjoy alot of things while I am delivering direct care to my clients . But one thing that stands out, when my client is doing much better that I found them because my care it brings alot of joy and encouragement that my goal as a caregiver is meet.
