I have been a caregiver off and on since 2012. I love my job is the best job I've ever had. What I like most about being a caregiver is helping people that are in need and showing compassion. I like hearing their stories about their life.

I grew up taught to respect my elders and in doing so learned that seniors are just young adults in an aging body. I learned about the frustrations and the difficulties of doing things that used to be easy, about the depressing, and sometimes humiliating, fact of having to depend on another for daily living activities. I also learned of the joy of sharing time, stories, humor and life experiences, and the rewards that come from it for both parties. I currently live on a small hobby farm that includes horses, a donkey, chickens, dogs, cats, rabbits and even a turkey. I spend quite a bit of time vegetable and fruit gardening and enjoy a variety of crafts. I am also a volunteer at the local senior center. I am married, with 5 grown children and 6 grandchildren, and am fortunate enough to still have both my parents! My specialties are Cancer Care, Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation, Post-Acute, Memory Care, and Hospice Care. I have an innate ability to anticipate the needs of my client, both emotionally and physically. I am open and approachable, and am able to comfortably converse with my client based on their interests and experiences. I'm known for giving great baths and showers and I'm nurse delegation certified, so I can assist with catheters, insulin, wound care and more. I have a clean, dependable car and insurance. I am willing to transport to appointments, outings and events or just stay home together. I was a foster kid and traveled alot wirh them and helped other people out who need assistance which i loved .so i got older and said i would love to continue helping others i love there storys they have to share i injoy it

I'm an easy going type of person. I have Been a Caregiver for 16+ years total,ranging from Facility Shift Lead & In home CNA the past 3 years, to being a private Nanny ,group home staff member and Private Aide/housekeeper. Being a caregiver comes naturally to me and I enjoy it simply because I love helping others wherever I can. I love the elderly and helping people. I love assisting people and helping them do the things they can no longer do themselves. I have been a CNA for 20 years and delegates and passed meds for 16 years. Everything I've done is in nursing, and I have many credentials that I've worked hard for. Hello what's drew to caregiving was the fact that my parents did it and I would go along and just listening to their stories and being able to connect with them. I continue doing it throughout my teenage years and for most of my adult life. I was able to take care of my grandma and I have had experience with all aspects that come with the aging and developmental disabilities ADHD and autism. One of my favorite things about it is just being able to listen to the stories about their childhood or when they pull the photo album out and sit there and tell you and you get that one-on-one connection. What makes me a great fit for caregiving as the fact I can connect with people very easily and I'm very positive and I can always see the good side and things and I truly care about people and their well-being. And I have two amazing sons so there isn't anything that life hasn't thrown at me that I haven't been able to overcome or deal with and I am very good at thinking outside the box.
