I have been a caregiver off and on since 2012. I love my job is the best job I've ever had. What I like most about being a caregiver is helping people that are in need and showing compassion. I like hearing their stories about their life.

I am married, with 5 grown children and 6 grandchildren, and am fortunate enough to still have both my parents! My specialties are Cancer Care, Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation, Post-Acute, Memory Care, and Hospice Care. I have an innate ability to anticipate the needs of my client, both emotionally and physically. I am open and approachable, and am able to comfortably converse with my client based on their interests and experiences. I'm known for giving great baths and showers and I'm nurse delegation certified, so I can assist with catheters, insulin, wound care and more. I have a clean, dependable car and insurance. My name is Nikki. I have been a certified nursing assistant since 2014, but have been taking care of people since 2000. What attracted me to become a caregiver was taking care of my mother for so long. My mother passed in 2006 and from then on I've been a caregiver. I am a caregiver at night for a client I have had since July 8th of 2015. I am the lead at my job, I handle the medications, doctors apts, payroll, firing, hiring and basically anything you can think of. My job isn't a job it's my life, my career. I have helped take care of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, MS, quadriplegic, cancer, amputations, inserting catheters, condom catheters, pubic catheters, colostomy bags you name it I have done it. What I truly enjoy most about being a caregiver is leaving the clients house knowing that the little time you get to spend with them made a difference. Getting to hear the story's of their life is the most memorable. To hear a client tell you that they love you and they can't wait for you to come back .... A few things about me that makes me an amazing caregiver is that not only do I believe to still give them there Independence in a safe manor but I also care deeply from my heart and try my best to always get all there needs complete. One thing that made me interested in being a caregiver was when I was 10 I used to go to my great grandpas retirement home and help out with everyone. I enjoyed it so much, seeing there faces when I would help with something or just sit and listen made me feel like I won a million dollars. I have gotten so much knowledge and have been through tons of experience I feel like nothing is too difficult for me to achieve. I'm an easy going type of person. I have Been a Caregiver for 16+ years total,ranging from Facility Shift Lead & In home CNA the past 3 years, to being a private Nanny ,group home staff member and Private Aide/housekeeper. I have been a caregiver/CNA for 5 years now. I have worked in everything from mental health, to hospice, to an emergency room. I have an extremely adaptable personality and I am self motivated.
