I enjoyed caring for many seniors over the years and learned quite a lot from them. I became a nursing assistant back in 1982 and acquired my Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license at the convalescent hospital where I worked. From a young age I've been caring for others - siblings, family members, neighbors, in-home childcare and candy-striping. Professionally, I was a Caregiver for a time at a local assisted living facility and entered the world of in-home care in 2019. In-home caregiving fills the needs of my clients but also a need in myself. I've tried other professions but just didn't find it to be as fulfilling.
